| Clothes! Okay ~ so here we are days, weeks, months, even years later and we've attained weight loss success! Now come the challenges of our new lives My dilemma is ~~~ How do you handle figuring out how to fit your clothes to your new body? For example, I can fit in my DD's clothes based on size, but they are typically too short (arms, legs, waist). Even ladies sizes seem not quite right. I'm not tall so it's a bit of an issue for me. (Tall is too long, Misses depends on item/manufacturer) Femmemode - are you there??? Any ideas? ps - yes, I'm learning the concept of "just because you can wear it doesn't mean you should" !!!!!

I keep going shopping and trying things on....of course, there are those here who think I should never leave the house....i'm not fit for society, yanno?
I actually don't wear a lot of things I shouldn't...the little black dress has never left this house, but I do enjoy it (so does hubby..... ) I don't tend to take things in a dressing room that I think are age-innappropriate....I go in some of my daughter's shops, but I rarely buy anything....there's no charge to try things on...just have fun with it until you find things you like...and preferrably on sale!!! |

I wear what fits and you know what I own 2 pair of size 5 Aerospotle (sp) jeans... yes, its a teen store...but I love the way their jeans fit me...so I buy them.
I have to try everything on because every designer is different. When I was shopping at guess I couldn't get anywhere near a size small...I bought a size large in that store! I usually wear a small top and size 4 jean in ladies sizes.
Keep plugging away, I like a line of pants from Fashion Bug. the siziing is strange, but they fit great.
Kathy... if you don't start wearing your clothes out of the house I'm going to come over and drag you out in them myself. That black dress is stunning on you and it needs showing off.

clancy: you have learned the most important lesson of the "afterlife" LOL!!!
i have had enormous luck in the jr's depts. some stores only have a "kids'" section but there are stores that have juniors or teens sizes, which land inbetween ladies and kids. those work out better than kids in terms of length (arms and legs) for me; and i am tall.
i say have fun trying on everything. no one says you HAVE to buy it if you dont like it.

Yes I have to find what works and stick with it- jeans are too long a lot for me, I guess I have short legs, but petites are too short. So I found some at Costco that worked and bought 3 sizes~ same with shirts. Find a store that their cut works for you (Old Navy and Target seem to have longer sleeves which work for me since I have long arms) It takes more work to wear what looks right, but I feel so good in it!

Oh man I hear you. I have found nice slacks for work but have not found and jeans that I really like yet. I find that in order to fit my belly area the waist in the back sticks way out when I sit. Of course I suppose a belt would work but I cannot see me doing the 'belt thing' just yet.

I know I went there just a couple of months post-op and came out in tears cuz the 18 still didn't fit and I kept hearing everyone here talk about them. I think I'll just have to try again cuz my 12's are getting too big!! huh!
