Just nervous about my surgery on Tuesday. Codine, vicodine, oh heck anything with hydrocodone makes me sicker than a dog. I have taken motrin at home for the couple of surgeries I had before, (not great but better than nothing) but this time thats not an option. I think I am more concerned about the pain and nausea after the surgery, than the surgery itself. Oh well, my minds made up so maybe it will be better than I hope for. Sorry just rambling.

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I know everyone is different, but don't agonize about the pain too much. You may not have any. I didn't have pain from the surgery site. Never did, don't now. The pain I had was from the gas they fill you with, it went up into my shoulder area and felt painful but that passed in a day or so. I took pain meds for that and also anti nausea meds because water made me sick. If you tend to have nausea and they give you antinausea, just be prepared to sleep a lot. I slept for almost 2 days straight, getting up briefly to stumble around the floor to get my walking in then falling back into bed. I didn't even watch tv those 2 days. Never turned it on. I remember thinking what the heck?? But now, it seems a breeze and it's only a week later. The day I left the hospital I was back to my old self, felt good, no pain, no nausea (havent' had it since) and was ready and rarin' to go. I came home a week ago today. You'll do fine. Just take things a day at a time. Good luck!!!

Good luck to you on the start of your journey! Don't woory too much about the pain. In the hospital, I had a morphine PCA for a day, and then the only discomfort I had was from the gas. Walk a lot and sip, sip sip! Once I was discharged I didn't need any pain meds, and I hope it's the same for you. Also, not everyone has nausea~~I didn't! Where in California are you? Southern California, here...

Congrads on your upcoming surgery and like everyone else said here that they will take good care of you and find something that will work for you. I also did not have much pain when I came home.

Gidget, I am in northern California in the central valley. Everyone thank you for your words of encouragement! I appreciate everyone's kind words. You know how it is, sometimes I have to remind myself to focus on the positive and deal with the negative when I come to it.
