I think from what my doctor said our bodies adjust to our new weight, we can maintain by experimenting with our calorie intake, how much we exercise , etc. It really is a job doing I know. But the more informed we are, meaning knowing the right things to eat for our body, hopefully we will all learn to get to our ideal weight and maintain at a comfortable weight. We are all built differently, different metabolism, different eating habit (hopefully we're learning as we go to eat healthy)
Then some of us who are older will have to work our tool harder, so I'm not really too concerned about how low I am going just yet, however, I know I will gain and that's ok too, as long as my eating is healthy and I am healthy.

Perfessor, I love that you share such great words of wisdom to us--I look forward to reading your posts-thanks so much.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hi there,

well it took me almost 2 years 10 months to lose ~73kg from the date of surgery (~80kg from my heaviest weight, I was once 160kg, wgt the night of the surgery was 152kg)
I have been plateauing almost for the last year, although I'm striving to lose another 8kg! but it seems that my body did all it can. time for the plastics

I'm happy where I am today, I wear whatever I want. (still want to wear a bekini with confidence I still can't do that even at the ladies only swimming pool) I still have lots of lose skin.

One day I'll do this dream, not only that but also a low waist pear of jeans and a sleeveless top untied hair behind my boy on a Harli hehehe I guess this is the wildest fantasy I can imagine for the time being...honestly I have another one but I'd love to keep it for myself

Who's next?

I consider myself in maintenance...I bounce with about 3 pounds up/down but I've been right at 138 for nearly 4 months now...I did dip down to 135, but I'm actually considering gaining back up to 140-145....I've stuck with my plan and my body seems to be settling at this weight...skin is tigtening some....I still do protein, veggies and TONS of water...I would say my calorie count has increased, but I'm still in the gym too, so it's an equal burn, apparently....

Perfesser very nicely said~!!! Really makes me stop and think and look where I have been and how far I have come. Everything you wrote below is oh so true. WOW.

NOTE: A new me used the word "judgment", and so did I, as something we use to keep us stable. Before you can use judgment, you have to develop judgment. That comes from being informed and going through a conscious educational process of trial and error. You have to know how you (not me, not someone else) respond to this or that before you can rely on that knowledge as a foundation for maintenance, or anything else. Work on LEARNING as you work on losing.

Without this major change in your thought and behavior patterns, there is no major change in your response patterns. The true test comes in the years after you stop losing. The thrilling part of this ride is the weight loss, we can all agree on that. The true success, though, comes when you look in the mirror a year or ten post-op and have to decide if you like what (and who!) you see. So work on that, along with all your other homework!! I am maintaining also. I eat around 900-1200 calories a day, run for 30 minutes every day and I don't gain and I don't loose.

I started maintaining around 9 months post op and after my plastics. I lost the last 5pnds after my plastic surgery.
