| Easter Baskets? I just saw the news item on making Easter baskets less fattening and wondered what our members are doing basket-wise. I'm not doing a basket per se, but have sent DS a care package which did include a small hollow chocolate bunny, a single pot size specialty coffee (Swiss almond mocha - yum) some maple nut SB protein bars and a carton of robin's eggs. DS is a bit chunky but mostly I worry about his teeth ~ I shoulda sent a toothbrush!!!!! LOL ~ I'm sure he'll brush For DD, I'm considering an orchid - and a small something sweet, I'm sure. I could just take her to Starbucks and she'd be a happy camper! Ok guys, bonding time , what are ya'll doing?

How about a cow bucket........ with Airheads, Reeces Pieces, Snicker bars, Sweet Tarts, Whoopers, a Reece Egg, Robin eggs, and a Cholate Bunny. The cow bucket is somthing I always look for, usally found at the dollar tree that is spotted up like a cow, this is going to my son. I get the boxes like you get at the movies not the bags of this stuff like I used to. This is the one time of year I do get the real stuff for him. Hes 24 and still has the big eared bunny deliver to him. LOL its funny. One year a couple years ago he thought I forgot. He was doing a bit of whinning until he found it and was very happy the rest of the day. Opps almost forgot what he calls grandpa candy, Werthers Orginal. He fond a love for sweetarts from my dad and Werthers Orgninal. Im sure you remember that commerical.

My husband and I probably won't do anything for each other, other than a card. It's all about the kids right now at 3(on Saturday) and 4 years old. However, I'm not doing much in the way of candy. They each have a basket that gets set out the night before, then the Easter bunny fills it. They're getting a small chocolate bunny (on principle since it IS Easter), a small package of peeps, 4 in a package, pink for Jessie, yellow for Joshua. Joshua is getting a big carrot filled with bubbles to blow and Jessie is getting a bunny filled with bubbles. They're both getting little rubber posable bunnies (think Gumby) and then to share.. the Pinocchio DVD.

My DH and I don't do for each other at Easter either. My DH usually gets some type of clothing or something like that (she'll be 13 next month) since she isn't into sweets at all.

| Buying and giving Easter candy doesn't entice me this year. My grandkids are really into crafts, so I'll be filling their baskets with very little homemade sweets and lots of fun stuff for projects we can do together. We are especially fond right now of shrinky dinks. They make the most awesome jewelry! John is really fond of chocolate, so I'll give him a few Hershey's kisses. Maggie

Looks like im the only one with a kid that still likes the EE bunny to deliver him the good stuff as he calls it. LOL. Its ok. I used to give him other things like videos a truck stuffed things to but now he wants the candy. Me and the hubby do a card for each other and spend the day together doing somthing special. We never preplan it.......it just happens.

| Our kids are waiting for the good stuff too but they are not getting huge baskets this year like every year. My girl doesn't really like to much candy anyway. I have to toss out Halloween stuff so she can store her easter stuff.

I bought my wife and 2 kids each a box of specilaty chocolates. We bought my sone a set of plastic dishes for his BBQ and my daughter an angel statue.
My wife did buy me a small chocolate egg, about 1/3 the size of a real egg and I will admit before you here, that I ate it 1/2 hour ago.
I didnt need it, I didnt want it but it was there and I ate it and I am mad at myself because I wasnt hungry, nor do I have a sweet tooth. If it wasnt sitting in front of me while I was watching tv, I would not have even thought about eating anything let alone a chocolate egg (creme filled).
I am glad that Easter comes but once a year and there arent any more chocolate or candy giving occasions coming up before Halloween.
