Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I chose my heaviest weight because it was the same as the day of my surgery. I didnt have to lose weight before . I was told not to gain any.

Arrow Board recommendation

The question has come up before.
This board recommends that you put your starting weight at what it was when you started the quest for surgery for those who chose surgery, and for those who chose the non-op journey, the weight where they embarked on their journey upon joining this board.
So, any weight you lost during your pre op preparations is included in your total weight loss.

Doc, I started my quest for surgery years ago. I just couldn't afford it. I gained 50+ pounds from my quest start to my actual surgery (and that includes the pounds i lost doing a 2 week liquid prior to surgery). I'm sure that there are others like me that are confused abou this. OMG I CAN't be the only one.

Red face Oops

Well, when we say, your quest for surgery, we actually mean when you started the present process for surgery. When you started the process that directly lead to your surgery, or at your first official weigh in with the surgeon/PCP in preparation of jumping the hoops.
Sorry my post wasn't clear on that.

Thanks doc. I have re-phrased my original question. I am still interested in knowing what the majority consider a "start weight".

Thanks,

They counted the weight that I started the 6 mt. diet before surgery. That was not my highest wt but close enough.

Honestly I really don't know my true heaviest weight. I only know the weight when I started at my DR.
