I take paxil. Have for years. I have a family history of depression. I thought it was normal to have thought of "offing" myself. It took a Dr. to tell me "no ... that's not right". I don't know if it added weight since I was so large anyway (378 lbs). I know I still need it or I go into a deep "funk" within a couple weeks. So I just figure my body doesn't produce something it should. No big deal. At least I am happy and active and living my life to the fullest!!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I was on Paxil once. Don't even think about getting off it on your own! That is some nasty stuff to quit!! I did get a share of that class action suit against them, though. I think it was a check for $9.35 or something huge like that. ;^)

I had to switch from Wellbutrin CR when I had the surgery to generic Wellbutrin with a different dosing schedule. I cut the pills in half and take them a couple of times a day (if I remember). I don't know if I still need to cut them, but I'm not really all that keen on experimenting, know what I mean? Doesn't sound like a fun time trying to cough up a pill or wait for it to dissolve. I also take a couple of Trazadone at night to help me go away and to knock off a few of the rough edges the Wellbutrin leaves.

I was on these meds for a year or more prior to surgery, and am still on them, and have lost a third of me, so I don't think they're a hindrance to me. As always, YMMV (your mileage may vary)!
