Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Hi, A bunch of us on the RR forum were so committed on the "What have you been eating today?" post which was initiated by LittleLisaMarie and Gosh I owe my WL to this thread! it kept me on track during my journey; and I was thinking of intiating a post that reminds people that the GBP is just a tool and without boosting up your physical activities the results won't be that much promising! So web admin would you add this to the pull down function menu of RR forum? so we can on daily basis encourage each others and suggest workout programs that works with some of us, this will motivate the newbies on putting the workout in their daily rotine from day 1 of recovery! So I'll start with myself: I aim for not less than 3 hours workout a day and not less than 4 days a week. I have different schedule for each day! I've noticed that if you stick to one program the body gets stupid and loses from one particular place and forget the other parts! SO for yesterday Saturday GYM prog: ------------------------ 1 hrs aqua-aerobcs 10 min's Jaccozi 1 hr aqua (Noodles) 10 min's Jaccozi again! ------------------------ Total of 2 hrs workout =/ didn't reach the 3 hrs ambition Today Sunday GYM prog ---------------------- 20 min's bike (warm up) 1 hr treadmill 20 min's stair climbing 20 min's bike 1 hr weight lifting and abs 10 min's stair climbing ------------------------- Total 3:10 hrs Guys, please participate on this post. I know everyone is trying to support from a distance but let us imagine that we're one GYM buddies Hi-5 Happy losing, Love Hanadi

| Super Moderator | ChuppyGirl, there already is an Exercise forum. I will move this thread there. For starters, you can put up an exercise thread daily there, if you want to. We'll see how things will go, and if we get a lot of posts, then we will discuss making a subforum for daily exercise, the same type as for the daily eating in the Diet forum.

Hey everyone come on, no body loses weight w/o workout?!! do you want me to believe that? Please don't heditate to mention even the simplest things like house work, laundry, vacuuming.., or maybe clean the garden.. This is not only for fancy workouts! Like today for me I'm not going to the GYM it's 6:17 and I just returned back from work! I gave one of the 3 presentations and it took me 1 1/2 after working hours! I think that's a good sign my manager was very enthusiastic! Girls anyone?! Hanadi

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | ChuppyGirl! goodness girl you hit a nerve with me...accountability! it's taken until today to realize that I NEED to have this accountability on getting back on track in order to get where I want to go ..sooo.. I'm joining in with the "have you been working out today?" thread accountability---I need you! With so many months past and getting the go ahead 2 mos ago to start back in on lifting and running due to my deep pelvic injury PT..oh yeah and YES! I can work my abs again IF i'm careful to keep doing my PT exercises and become aware of when my lower abs try to do the work of my pelvic floor..the exercises are 'sorta' like kegels but there is a LOT more intensity to it and it HURTS and ACHES...lemme tell ya..sounds fun in theory though LOL (gotta laugh about it ya know) It's like starting totally over..hmph! so enough of that here it is--- (I have an expensive treadmill with wirelss heart monitor LOL talk about investing in your commitment to exercise!)30 min treadmill = 5 min warm up walk, run at 2.7 mph with 1/2 lb hand weights for 20 min, 5 min cool down Abs (crunches)= lower 40 reps, upper 40 reps, inner 40 reps, sides each 40 reps (ow!), hip crunches 30 each (another ow!!) 10 Military pushups, 10 dips off couch (for triceps) 10 lunges with no weights food so far.... coffee with heavy cream (remember I eat a higher fat intake) 12 nutrasweets...(I need to switch back to hot TEA as I use little sweetners..carbs HIDE in the sweetners) bad habit here! 1 protien bar crunch = 12 grams protein water with ISOPURE = 24 oz water + 25 grams protein mixed in --shower time!--- --BREE

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I bought my treadmill last year (on credit..ouch!) after working 2 jobs equaling over 60 hrs a week work and not getting to the gym. I realized that when I was going I was only doing the treadmill with my daughter and if I bought one a good one then I'd run at home..LOL...well yeah at first then my injury flared it's ugly head and I had to stop..but now I am very glad to have it. I self motivate and found it cheaper in the long run to put out a chunk now instead of paying each month for time I wasn't going to. I was deployed with FEMA in 2004 for one of the many hurricanes in FLorida. Before that I was a regular at GOLD's gym, well I came back are 21 days...then school/clinicals etc...and then get this letter informing me that not only had Gold's CLOSED while I was gone my membership had been sold to another gym..urgg! I guess I'm too much of a small town type gal I liked the people at Gold's and the workers/trainers...the new one was a pick up joint deluxe..!! Hey I just wanna sweat ya know!!!!! so today... treadmill probably the 25 min workout a bit less as I'm sore from 2 days in a row jogging. my usual abs...lower/upper/middle/side 40 each with hip crunches at 30 each..ouchie! military pushups 10 and dips (triceps) 10 lunges 10 each side..another OUCH! AND I work my shift today but am scheduled to be in front of a certain building so there won't be much walking and it's raining cats & Dogs! food.. coffee and cream/sweeter-12 packets..I know I know! cut back woman! toffee crunch protein bar 12 grams protein for breakky lunch will be downtown so either chinese or gyro meat..depends on how far I want to walk in the rain! lol ![]()

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I really got a great deal on my gym....its only 10.99 a month and the enrollment fee was only 29.00... at the price if i have weeks that keep me from going its really not bad. BUT i personally fine i dont stay committed to home equipement. I also have a client that joined so i have a friend to go with and keep motivated with...its the only way for me. I went last night and did my 1 hour workout! I was proud.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I am NO WHERE near you Chuppygirl or you Lisa....BUT, for someone who has been totally sedentary except for an office job. I have accomplished huge things. Last Monday I went to the gym that I HAVE BEEN PAYING ON FOR THE LAST 3 YRS. I had only gone 4 time in those 3 yrs, I did go on Monday last and walked the treadmill for 20 mins and walked one mile. That was huge for me. THEN, LAST NIGHT i COVERED UP THE DISPLAY ON THE TREADMILL, TURNED MY MP3 player up and walked for 37 mins...that is 2 miles. YEAH...I have NEVER done that beofre. My goal Chuppygirl is to be like you as far as exercise goes. I am working my way up to 1 hour Lisa, but its a real effort. I think this is a good motivating tool. |

| Super Moderator | Okay, this is gym night for me, too. I go twice a week, workout 1-1.5 hours, and also take a 90 min lesson on Saturdays. So tonight, 30 mins on the exercise bike, then hit the machines, finishing off with 100 crunches. Since I went earlier than usual, I had an extra 15 mins on I don't know what you call it, the horseback riding typie thingie...it's called JOBA here. My workout's kiinda solitary, I take a music tape with me (regular tape, CraigT a.k.a. Craig "Big T" and the Bada Bings is another story, although I go only for lessons, I've been going to the same place for over 20 years, have the same coach for 10 years. Our class is known for a low turnover, and the only ones who leave are those who get promoted to the experienced class, and only then do we get a newbie, so we've known each other for ages, and have an off court get together once or twice a year at a Japanese restaurant a former class member runs. ![]()
