doc is correct. Here I was the one not to exercise at all and now Im in such a routine that if it rains or we have plans at night Im like "what am i gonna do about my walk." So like Doc says, I do feel out of kilter if I dont get my exercise in. It will come. I was in no shape or anything to be exercising and here I am going out twice a day walking almost 4 miles a day. Build it up slowly is correct. I started walking to the mailbox and around my yard and then gradually moved to a ways down the street and then so on. It does get better.

I started last night! The reason my doc is not satisfied with my weight loss is because they like you to loose 30% of excess weight by 3 months and I am only at 24%. If you look at my starting weight I should be dropping faster in their eyes. I should have lost 15 more pounds at this point according to their calculations. So I will move my butt and see! Roz

They go by what is supposed to be my ideal weight. 190 is my personal goal not theirs. I am not going to stress too much but I am going to do my part to work my tool. I agree with you 60 pounds in 3 months I will take it and I am loosing tons of inches, I am down 5 sizes so that is fine with me. Roz

I have a very hard time walking because I need a hip replacement and the pain can be really bad at times. But they want me to lose 100 lbs before I get my surgery. Ha go figure lose weight so I can walk to lose weight..sheesh.. I didn't know what to do. So I started taking the deep water aerobics at the high school here. I thought well I have to not care what people say about me in my suit I don't care I need to lose weight (again..lol) And when I get there I come to find that there are woman there heavier then I and some are post gastro surgery and with problems of every kind. Even these woman who are so skinny but have a hard time exercising because of other problems. I love it and we are like a family in there. So if you can't find something you like or having a hard time getting started, swimming is great. It is easy on your joints and even if you go to the pool alone and not in classes it is still so good for you. And it makes you stronger so you can walk more. |

Roz: I was reading the story of Carnie Wilson and her GB surgery -- she's leading up something called "Walking Away from Obesity". I haven't looked it all up yet (suppose I should do that before I reference it here) but it sounds like a good cause. We have to get moving and even a little heavy housework is excercise -- so go vaccum every room in your house (twice) ;-)))

Yes Jill Great Idea. Heavy Housework Is A Great Way To Start. When You Park In The Parking Lot Of A Store, Park Far Away Also.
