Red face I'm officially post-op now!!!!

I'M BAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!! !!

Thank you very much for your kind prayers I missed you all!!! My husband used to visit the forum and tell me Heidi said this and the Doc said that it was very heart touching I have support around the world I'm that much beloved hehehe :~)

I know everybody are keen to know what had happened? Well this wasn't my first time under the surgeons hands on the theater table but I don't know this time I went with a peaceful mind and praying that everything will be alright.

I went to the operation theater around 2:30PM and my family told me that I didn't get back to the room until 9:00PM!!! they were thrilled. There were few complications specially I'm doing 3 procedures in one go (remove gallbladder, remove the gastric banding and run the gastric bypass).
My surgeon told me that mine took longer time than usual because my band was an old one and he had to fix the stomach it has (I don't know what the right word but it had some wrinkles due to the 5 year old band he had to flatten the stomach before he runs the RNY bypass) that what took so long!

It was horrible pain when I'm finally at my room. Thank God that all my family were around me otherwise I would have been in big trouble!! I couldn't breath I couldn't cough, I couldn't move or even sleep!! the first 2 nights were just HORRIBLE!. I stayed for 2 days without a water drop in my dry throut I was almost dieing! it was IV after the other one and all my veins were swollen and they had to change the vein like 10 times!

Morning of 3rd day I had an X-ray to ensure that the liquid goes in it's right path and thank God there was no leakage. so when I got back to the ward I started drinking 15ml water every 1 hour and then every 1/2 an hour for the entire day. 4th day I started on clear liquids like apple juice and chicken broth same amount/same timing. I got discharged at the end of the 4th day. I stinked! I needed a shower sooooo badd!!

Today is a week after the operation and I'm still on the clear liquids. But I'm currently having a problem with my wond it's discharging yellow bloody liquid and I'm changing the bandage twice a day at home also I had to change it at the hospital too becoz I needed somebody to give me my lasy blood thinner shot! I'm on antibiotics lets hope that the wond will get better soon.

I'm very thankful to my sweet husband who took care of me all the time. My mom who slept on the couch for 3 nights, my 2 sisters who were beside me and encouraging me. My lovely sister in law who brought the joy and laughters to my room at the hospital, and who took care my sick babies :~( She made me feel cuddled and beloved I owe them my life!

It's hard so far but not impossible to handle. I'm doing baby steps on a long successful milestone by God wills.

It's good to be back

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hi Chuppygirl, I am so sorry to hear that things were so hard, but Lisa is right, every day gets easier and better. I am keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. This is a really hard thing to go through, but the most worthwhile things in life usually are. It is great to hear that you have such great support though. Best of luck in becoming a loser like the rest of us.

Thank you dears. yes I'm very optimistic this time I knew in my heart that with my determination and with the support and guidance over here I will be able to lose my ugly and and awful weight.

Hey just a question out of curiousity: How much does this kind of surgery cost in the states? while I was reading others threads it sounds that the insurance is a big deal with you folks!!! For my op I paid myself for it and guys guess how much did it cost me??!!! 10,000 US dollars! and I'm still paying for the mediciations and the follow ups I know it's a big ouch in the pocket !!! :/ I have spent all my savings.
But I'm sure it's worthing it.
