OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!LAST NIGHT I EXPERIENCED THE WORST CONSTIPATION EVER. Has this happened to anyone? What did you use and is this normal? My stool usually comes out in little balls pack together! (sorry for being graphic) Is this normal and does it changes? How soon do you go to the bathroom after you eat? Does your food come right out or does it take a day? What is normal?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I've experienced it a few times. But I noticed it happens when I don't get my fluids in. They say that is a side effect of not getting enough water in. I took some Milk of Magnesia and it helped. But I don't take iron pills either. I take a vitamin w/iron. But I know one of the side effects of taking iron pills is constipation. I hope everything gets better for ya.

Yep...same thing here! I had to go get some colace and take one a day with my iron pills.

Chilly, does your multivitamin have calcium in it? That would stop the iron from being absorbed if so.

I have had the problem since surgery but had some of it before. I end up taking the milk of mag with prune juice - I also have applesauce and baby prunes at least once a day. I have had to resort to the softeners I cut into quarters right now at least every other day.
I get lots of fluids in so it is either the flintstones or who know what

one word..IRON

=constipation big time.

food passes a LOT slower hon. It not 'abnormal' to have one-two BM's a week is all after surgery. It gets better the further you get out though.

There's a link to an article that refers to the changed bowel movements in the following thread.

Hmmm Kim, I'm sure it does. I thought it was the other way around? Gosh, sometimes I get so confused with all the vitamin stuff. My Dr. never said to take iron pills. I took a look at my lab results and I don't even see "iron" on there. Does it have another name when you get tested? I know this is 1 thing that I DON'T want to lack.

It might be just Fe or Serum Fe. Fe is the chemical abbreviation for iron.
