Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I HAVE BEEN WALKING AND DOING SOME JOGGING. ALSO, FREE WEIGHTS FOR UPPER BODY, ARM WORKOUT. AM JUST STARTING A BALL EXERCISE PROGRAM FOR MY ABS, ETC. MY QUESTION IS THIS: WHEN I JOG OR TRY TO DO WEIGHTS WITH LEG LIFTS, MY RIGHT KNEE FEELS LIKE THE LIGAMENT OR MUSCLE ON TOP OF THE KNEE IS STRAINING. IT DOESNT HURT, BUT IT DOESNT FEEL GOOD. OBVIOUSLY I AM TRYING TO AVOID AN INJURY (AND AVOID GOING TO A DOCTOR - LOL) SO I HAVE BACKED DOWN ON THE JOGGING AND THE WEIGHTS FOR MY LEGS ( ). DO ANY OF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS? CAN YOU DO THE ELYPTICAL MACHINES? WILL THE EXERCISE HURT IT OR DOES IT FEEL THE WAY IT DOES COZ IT'S STRENGTHENING IT? ADVICE APPRECIATED ![]() |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I was gonna say the same thing Edie did. Elliptical all the way. Jogging is VERY harsh on your joints and if your knee doesn't feel great now, it could only get worse. And the elliptical is SOOOOO much fun!

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I'm with EDIE!!! Jogging and treadmills are HIGH impact on the joints...the eliptical will kick your butt, but it's low impact on the knees! |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I've had mine for 2 months. I think they're rough. It hurts my knee while i'm working out, but not when I get off. my PCP thinks they're great. You can always get a free pass to a gym and ck them out before you buy.My grandson is 7 he loves it.I do try to use it 2-3 days a week.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Swimming is great too- if you have pool access. (I am in AZ so there is a pool everywhere I look!) It may be worth having an MRI on the knee. I had minor pain and it felt unstable and I found out I acutally had a miniscus tear which is very common. Just a thought if it feels weird for too long-

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I've found that some elipticals torque my knees funny, some are really smooth, especially the Precor. Start out slow on it, your knees will be tight and will loosen up after a few minutes. Definitely look into some joint supplements, your joints have had a hard time of it, even with that insanely awesome weight loss you've had.
