| Should I keep the exercise thread going or not? Just wondering if the thread should keep going because I think it's pretty boring if I'm the only one posting. Any feedback is appreciated. I just thought it as an area we could all use as accountability and to encourage one another. Why not post our struggles as well as our successes with exercising just like we do with everything else?
Today I had a good day where I got in 20 minutes of upper body strength training, 10 minutes on the ab roller and a 4.3 mile walk. This is more than I normally do at once but I feel good for having done it.

If I could get my rear in gear and get back to exercising regularly I'd post, I'm going to do my best to get start tomorrow. So keep it going, it's the same way with the What are you eating today thread, some days there are a lot of people posting on it and others not so much, but you just never know who's reading and might be inspired by what someone else is doing.

Keep it going, even if no one else posts, I'm pretty sure a lot of people are reading, and someone will eventually start to post.
As for me, I have a set program of about an hour to 1.5hrs of gym workout Tues and Thursday nights, plus a 1.5hr tennis lesson every Saturday
Oh, and I to the because I go at night, but ride my to because it's in the afternoon.

| I say "kudos" to everyone putting in the effort to get and stay healthy by exercising. As a reminder, I'm not talking about the extreme athlete who can run a marathon (although they do inspire us and are welcome to post), I am talking about those of us who struggle sometimes doing the simplest of things. So whether you are an advanced athlete, just starting out or somewhere in between, I would love to hear your stories. I hated exercise when I first started and could only walk a mile and was in a lot of pain while doing it. Now 3 months later I am up to 4 miles and actually look forward to my walks. I switch routes constantly to stave off boredom and listening to music keeps me at a brisk pace. I've even added in intervals of jogging. As for the pain in my knees and right foot, I've learned of ways to help it not be so debilitating. I hope as the weight comes off it will improve.
Another reason I wanted this thread was to have an outlet for our frustrations and struggles. Just like the many posts I've read about eating right and the encouragement that came from others, and also strategies developed by the old timers have been invaluable. So whether you share your exercise experiences and goals or just need to vent, please do. Thank you to those who responded to keeping the post going. If you don't see the thread started on any given day please start it as I am 3 hours behind my friends to the east and Doc, I have no clue even which day you are on! lol Hugs to all. |

Sandy | Sunspree, I'm sorry to hear that you are having a rough go of it. I can relate to the allergies very well. (It's that time of year!) I want to say good for you on making a plan for today. Sometimes it's taking one day at a time and doing it one step at a time. I hope it will help with your PMS. I was just saying to my adult daughter this morning that I feel as though my depression has improved some since I began exercising. |
