I went back to the gym after my second week (with the doctors okay) and started walking and riding the stationary bike. I know my doc will tell me when I can start to exercise harder but how long for most of you guys until you were pumping iron?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Dont push this. You just had surgery and a lot of what you are doing or want to do in the gym may cause you serious problems with your surgery.

I dont know if you want any or any more children or not but you should read up on sterility issues about riding bikes, stationary or otherwise.

Walking is good, swimming is good, take it easy at this early stage. You have plenty of time and the problem right now is you have new energy as a result of the changes in you.

Best of luck and take it easy.

For any exercise straining the abs, allow several more months before you get into it. Your incisions may not look like much on the outside, but inside it was major surgery, and there's a whole lot of healing needs to happen without stressing it.

Anything at all where you tense your stomach muscles and push is basically off-limits until summer's over.

Or you can rip out your staple lines.

Your call. How bad do you want to spend quality time with your surgeon again?

I agree with perfessor, just take it rather slow and easy right now. The main thing is going to be your protien and vitamins. Your weight with walking and moderate exercise is going to fall off. I have lost all my goal weight and then more within 6 months. So for me right now I'm focusing on toning and maintaining what I have. Good luck.
