| What did you do for exercise today? Thursday Sept. 1st I feel I need to start this thread again so I can stay accountable and on track. It may be a bit boring to hear about my walk everyday but hopefully we can inspire one another to get moving. I personally love to hear what others are doing.
Being 2 1/2 weeks out of surgery I have to really listen to what my body is saying and right now it's saying that 2 miles is enough. So that's how far I walked today... 1 mile down the road and 1 mile back. It's gonna take a while to build my stamina and pace back up but I feel great for having done it today! |

I'm glad that you're glad! Even though I was still exercising I started feeling stupid being the only one to post for awhile. Do you workout at a gym or at home? I would love to able to afford a gym membership but that's just not in the cards right now. I do love my bands though! |

We go to a little gym near our house, I like it even though it's nothing fancy at all, there's never a lot of people there and the folks that run it are real nice.

I wasn't going to excercise today....geez, it's like energy is at a premium some days, and others I'm all over it. I gave in though, and took a spin on the treadmill for 30 minutes this evening. I'm impressed that you can go two miles, I'm a little over a mile and it's about all I can do. We're about the same number of days out from surgery, and I'd like to know what your diet looks like at this point-do you journal both calories and protein, etc? I'm definitely struggling getting enough protein in, and about 450 cals a day. Can anyone tell me what's "normal"??

Good for you on getting on your treadmill and walking! I'm usually dragging a bit by the time I get back home!
Right now I am still on the liquid diet until the 14th when I get to start pureed foods so I don't count calories. I have 3 30 gram protein shakes a day, homemade chicken broth, lots of sf popsicles, and lots of water. My surgeon is real strict about the diet but I know there is a method to his madness! I can't answer your question about what normal calories should be at this stage you and I are in. What are you eating at this stage? I hope you keep posting and wish you the best of luck.
P.S. I do keep a log of my protein, water and supplements and when I get to the food stage I'll add that in as well. |

Inspiration.... thats what I needed.
I sure hope I can put running around work like a crazy woman as exercise.... that was my day and week. I WILL start walking tomorrow. My fingers are crossed we won't have rain all day.
