Default Saturday & Sunday, how are you moving today?

Today I'm going to be helping a bunch of little ones in a lead line class. My daughter use to be in Pony Club and I was quite involved with horse management judging and teaching. Later this morning I will be teaching and leading little kids through their lesson and I'm so excited to be doing so! I love impressionable young minds to teach the full scope of horsemanship to. Everything from grooming to how to hold the reins and get their horse moving! I'm listing this as exercise because it will entail a lot of walking, strength training and stamina. I'm talking about some of these kids being only 3 years old, so basically you end up being the one doing most of the grooming and probably all of the tacking up! My wow moment came last night when I tried my paddock boots on and they fit again!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Well I just got home after 2 hours of having a blast! My workout consisted of horse grooming, tacking up and walking! Lots of walking! The kids were awesome and the only problem I had was jogging them out to trot. It hurt and I'm still hurting. I think its a bit too soon for it! Anyway I had fun and got a good workout in.

You go girl. I am scared to death of horses. Have been since I was a little girl. I don't know why. I am glad that you can do this. It looks like a lot of work. Don't over do it so soon after surgery. You are doing great.

This morning I went for my Get Moving Bariatric group walk. There were only two of us who showed up (the NP from my surgeons office and myself) but we had great time. This time we met at the Tacoma waterfront and walked 3 miles. It was so beautiful out! Later I might try getting my resistance band training in after I go blackberry picking.

Shawn - Moving is a lot of work and a great workout!

Nell - Swimming sounds like a great, fun way to workout! I need to check in to our local pools. Most of them are at schools and a lot of them closed down during the summer due to budget cuts.

Dixie - I'm trying to be careful. I didn't lift any kids yesterday. Did something happen to you that made you fear horses? I did have something happen a couple of nights ago. I saw a horse running loose up the road so I went after it. The owner had tied a plastic bag to his halter in hopes of getting him not to be afraid of it. (It's called sacking out) It was pretty stupid to tie it on! The horse was terrified and got away. I finally found him up the road standing in the middle of it and talked my way into him. Once I had him and was trying to get the bag off he reared a couple of times. I got it off of him though but felt so bad because he was so scared. After calming the horse down the owner comes driving down the road to get him. I had to really hold my tongue to not say how stupid that was not to mention dangerous for both her and her horse!

Judi - I am glad that everything worked out with the horse. That sounds kind of scary when he reared up on you.
