Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Walking is always a good way to get started. Then you might want to add in some strength training, swimming if you have access to a pool is great exercise as well. Lots of folks like Zumba, I'd love to try it one day but I'm just not coordinated so not so sure I'd do well with that.

I go to a gym 6 days a week. Three of those days I have a personal trainer at 6:00 am. Then I go back every afternoon at 3:30 and walk on the treadmill and use some of the machines.

I joined a gym and got a trainer. I had no idea what to do, and thought I would give it a try.
I think "movement" in general is a good thing. Walkin, exercise tapes... if you are like me, and have "no clue" you may want to do a short term membersip at a gym or work out place so you can talk to an expert to get started. The YMCA may be able to help you, you don't have to join and can still take a class...good luck.
We are almost sharing our stats..the big difference is our height...surgery dates and weight loss are similar.

My work outs have consisted of walk/jogging and resistance band training. I would love to have a gym membership someday when we can afford it.

Combination of aerobic and resistance exercise is best. Aerobic exercise includes walking and jogging, btw, not just those dancing routines. Some weights added to this. If you have a gym membership, or if you can afford one, then having a trainer set up a rountine that fits your needs is the easiest way to figure out.

An hour of ANYTHING every day...Try loads of different things..and you wil find out quickly what you enjoy and what you don't...
You really do need to enjoy the exercise you do because if you dont then you will get lazy, make excuses to avoid doing it and this will end up making YOU feel like a failure....
So try anything at all that makes your heart pump, be it -
Wii Fit
Walking
Skipping
Cycling
Zymba
Swimming
Aerobics
Spinning
Dancing (Salsa, hip hop)
Bootcamp style classes
Circuits

Variety is the spice of life so keep it mixed up so you dont get bored!

But remember 1 hour a day and you will see a hige difference :-)

Walking is actually a rather poor form of exercise considering the calories burnt against the time taken. Our bodies soon adapt to any kind of exercise routine so you really need to mix it up to keep making gains in fitness, and we kind of walk every day so you stop getting any real value from walking real quick.

At your weight of 218lbs you would burn the following

Walking @ 3mph 430 calories per hour
Stationary bike at moderate pace 1,200
Step aerobics - low impact 693
Jogging 700
Aerobics - low impact 600
Rowing machine - moderate 700
Elliptical trainer 1,125
Running @ 5 mph 837
Rope jumping 994
Zumba moderate level 780

I would do alternate days with some kind of aerobic exercise from this list or maybe some kind of class like zumba etc, on one day with resistance training the next.

Get a personal trainer to write you a program preferably one who has worked with WLS post ops. If the cost is an issue then join a local gym that will give you an induction, and get them to write you one.
