Default Family means well...I think

Today I went to my folks for Sunday lunch. My mom always cooks a huge meal for the whole family. I sat down before everyone else and started eating slowly. Then the rest of the family came to sit down...the jokes started...is that all you are going to eat? Maybe you need a bigger plate for all of that food....Are you still eating? and again are you still eating?? Before I knew it I was feeling very ill. I ran to the bathroom but to my surprise I kept my food down. I know they meant well but if they were not pushing me to eat bigger bites and faster I may have felt better. There are not many meats I am keeping down at this point and they know that. Needless to say when they saw how ill I looked I think they knew they went too far.

Hopefully next Sunday will go better.

Thanks for listening.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I have tried that and they still do not understand. Before surgery I didn't have much support from my folks or siblings. I thought it was more from the unknown so I sent them information and talked with them more. My mom admitted that she never thought I'd go through it.

So today when I was feeling ill one of the things I heard was "is this worth it? you are the one that wanted this."

I have to start feeling stronger and keeping in my food. I'm ready to scream.

i think, and it might not be my place to say this, you shouldnt go over there to eat until some time passes. it's just not right. it isnt supportive at all and in fact it can be counter productive....just my thoughts.

I am agreeing with Kenya on this one. I think it is counter productive to your journey, esp this early into it.
If you cant get the support you need from those you love, it might be best to explain to them that you have to stay away for a few weeks till you have your new eating down pat.
I dont think there is much else you can do if you have already tried and tried to explain things.
*HUGS* I wish you all the best with this, keep your chin up and stay strong.

Kenyar you can say whatever you want. I like your openess and honesty.

You probably are right about staying away for a while but I will probably put myself through it once more to see what happens. They have 1 more chance!!

Fair enough. everyone deserves a chance to redeem themselves. I really really hope they take what you said seriously and be more understanding and supportive!

You are still so fresh. I agree wait just a little till you're much stronger. I was still so raw at your stage. Just find an excuse that works so you wont have to answer any questions.Soon it wont matter at all!!

I tend to agree with that. You are still so new out that your head still tells you that you can do things like before. Get yourself to where you need to be and let them bask in your glory!
