well clyde is well adjusted. so well that he cannot go without me for ONE MOMENT. he has become quite attached. i dont even hold him but he comes to me and sits with me and has to have some part of his body touching me in order to go to sleep. the issue is he and kayla are not the best of friends. i think they are jealous of eachother if thats even possible. i have to put him in the spare room at night because they fight in the bed at night (kayla sleeps with me and he tries to get in between LOL) she teases him all day long and then wonders why he wont let her pet him LOL. he still does not meow much at all which i think is wierd but whatever...

is his clingy-ness a charateristic of a little boy or just a general abandonned pet "thing"? he is so cute

I think animals attach themselves to certain people. It seems animals always attach themselves to me. The house cat follows me all over and when I go to bed he will sleep at the foot end of the bed and when I come out to the living room he comes right behind me. He does not even care about anyone else. My dog, Smokey is really attached to me, if anyone runs up to me he will try to nip at them, no matter who it is. We have tested him one time. My husband went on the four wheeler and drove off and smokey stayed right by my side and then he came back and I went on the four wheeler and took off and he ran right behind me all the way and came right back and stood right beside me and then my husband went on the four wheeler again and smokey would not leave my side and my husband even called him and he would not go with him. Then one time I had to go up north to one of our crop fields to help my husband move the combine to another field and smokey followed me all the way, which was almost 3 miles away and I tried to get him to come to me so that I could take him home on the four wheeler while I would hold him. He would not and he just wanted to follow me home again, so I drove very slow and stopped a few times so that he could cool off in the water slews that we have around here. So when my husband came home that night my husband told me that Smokey would run himself to death for you.
My kids were around smokey and they have no trouble with him unless they horse around with me. For instance one time I was sitting on a chair outside and Smokey was underneath the chair I was sitting on and my youngest son came up to me and put his foot to close to me and Smokey bit him so hard in his shoe that Smokey broke off one of his teeth. My son did not get hurt because his shoes are so thick nothing can bit threw them. My son and I were so schocked that he would protect me that much that he would break off a tooth for me. His tooth grew back in a few weeks. When I would help herd the cattle to a pasture, Smokey would make sure that no cattle where close to me on the fourwheeler. My husband got such a kick out of that. When he dies that is going to be so hard for me because I love that dog so much. I could go on and on about Smokey but I better stop. Kenyar you have such a cute kitty.

that is such a cute story. i have had cats before but this one seems special. i still cannot believe someone put him outside lilke that. he isnt "bad" at all. he needs some training but nothng a spray bottle and some patience cant fix. he is a sweetheart. im going to try to work with him while i am out of work. i am afraid he might cry all day when i do find a job and am away for most of the day... we'll see. by then he will be a little older and hopefully alright

My hubbys cat does exactly what Smokey is doing. Mike got him after a major surgery he had 12 years ago. Hes almost like a dog and that loyal to. I kinda think the no meowing part is normal cosidering hes happy. Ours dont meow much what so ever unless there trying to get your attention aboutsomthing important to them. It can be silent here for weeks. The spray bottle is a great idea and yes they learn fast what one is! When he is about a year old you will notice another change in him also with attitude or we did the newer cat we got last year. Its all for the best.

Kayla will soon be fine with him im sure. Its natural all kids try to mess with animals in one way or another. I love you have a new companion. I never was a cat lover until I met my husband and I have grown to love the 2 we have because they do there thing and I do mine.

Clyde looks so sweet!!!
We have 2 cats: Archie, who weighs about 15 lbs and wants to be the lap kitty and Sadie, whose a little bitty thing and the definition of "scaredy cat".
There personalities are totally different. We have had Archie for 5 yrs and Sadie for 3 years. Archie is spoiled and demanding and pouts if he doesn't get his way. Sadie is sweet and not very needy and has finally started to get in our lap for attention, but any noised etc... and she hides. She was an abandoned kitty when we found her. It is funny how different they are, but we love them and they tend to run the house sometimes or at least Archie does!
