this last saturday we had sidney and colby's birthday party, they decided to celebrate them together this year (colby's birthday is july 13th and sidneys is aug 26th) we had it out at kathio state park, they have an area that has a swimming pond and playground/picnic area...it was a beautiful day, lots of ppl showed up, couldnt have asked for a better time!! here are some pics!!

I heard its after the hard baby/toddler years, but before the major attitudes on teenagers. However, I have a 5 year old who talks to me like she is 13. She told me today in a total vally girl sassy voice "whatever, mom- you are so lame" and then went stomping to her room. Then proceeded to go on and on about how she "wanted to live the sweet life" and I wasn't giving that to her. Huh? Where does she even get this stuff??

Holy Cow! Sounds like she has been watching reality TV! If I would have said that to my mom she would have told me to pack my bags and find the "sweet life". I remember one time I came down the stairs and she was vacuuming. I must have said something to her about it being loud or some obnoxious thing like that. She told me if I didn't like it I could move out. I remember saying, "Mom, I'm only eight years old." Her reply was to keep quiet and live with it.
We certainly grew up in a different era. Of course kids these days are so much wiser than their years. Makes you feel really old sometimes.
BTW cute cakes but I bet the kids were bouncing off the walls from all the sugar!! Good thing it was outside where they could run it off!

Talk about changing times...if you look at my face really close I'm pretty sure you would still be able to see traces of my mothers hand prints. She slapped me so hard once, my grandmother cried!
I grew up in a very Italian home and neighborhood. Back then not only did parents still hit their kids, but even your friends Moms hit you - and your parents were glad they did! But then you got hit all over again because you did something that made another Mother hit you!
