|  Finally Told My Parents
OK, I know I wasn't going to tell anyone else, but I knew I had to eventually tell my parents. Well, that "dreaded" day came today. My mother actually surprised me. I really feel someone had already told her, but that's beside the point now. She had a few questions to ask me, i.e. what type surgery I was having, what it meant, how much time I would be off work, and what I was going to do with my clothes. That's why I feel she already knew; she was too calm. And then she changed the subject. Oh well, at least I've told her and that's over with. I do feel better with her knowing, but I just don't want her broadcasting it all over the neighborhood. She told me I could recuperate at her house and told me when she cooked she would only give me a little. I had to explain to her that I wouldn't be able to eat for 3 weeks after surgery, and staying with her would not be good for me (she cooks Sunday meals twice a day for my father). Thanks to everyone for their support, and as I said in an earlier post, I'm (now) not telling anyone else. 3 weeks and 6 days to surgery day, but whose counting

I felt the same way about not telling people about my surgery, but knew I needed to tell my parents. They have been SO supportive of me the whole way through and have kept good on their promise not to share my personal business with anyone. I just had surgery last Friday and I was very glad to have their support in the hospital, alongside my hubby. Very best of luck to you!

Thanks everybody!! I guess I was so focused on what everybody else would say or think, I took the focus off of ME, the one who actually counts. Thanks for putting things back into perspective for me. 3 weeks, 6 days to my big day, but who's counting ......  I'm truly getting ready to "start a new life"
