I'm with everyone. MsVickie, I got your back. We may have to do more than just hold him down. What's his rush; he's only rushing his life away. And as Doc says, he needs to slow down as well, for his own health.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I used to be a quick eater. I don't know if it came from years of working in a restaurant and only having a short break to darn near inhale something but I used to be the first one done. My husband and I enjoy going out because we have some of the best conversations while we're out. He's not a quick eater at all and now it seems I'm done after or at the same time he is.

I agree with what others have said though. Your husband sounds like he wants to eat and get outta there as quick as he can. Even at home, neither of us leave the table until we're both done. Your husband sounds like he needs to slow down and understand part of being successful after WLS means taking your time to eat. Sit down and have a talk with him - or show him this thread. It's very important to take your time when eating to ensure you chew your food well enough and don't over eat.

Since surgery I seldom eat out. I dump easily and often. I even dump on mashed potatoes. The once or twice I have eaten out. I order soup. Because it is mostly water, I am able to eat it quicker than I could something I need to chew to death. I can't go as fast as everyone else but it is faster than trying to chew real food and I get full on soup.

Wow, I read this and got really mad! He's being rude and inconsiderate and should be told so. If he's not willing to change, then I would refuse to go out with him anymore. If you want to eat out, go with a friend and leave him behind a few times until he "gets it".

Talking **update**

He is getting so much better!! He will even keep toying with his food to make it look like he is still eating when he is SO done!

Last night DH even told daughter to SLOW DOWN and not shovel HER food. Maybe old dogs can learn new tricks?

Thanks for all your wonderful suggestions and ideas!
