why is it that I am trying to better my health and body and my so called husband( we don't have a good relationship at all) keeps bringing in oreos, muffins, cookies, and any other junk food he knows was a complete trigger for me before surgery? He has never said one word about my 100lb weight loss or ever looks at me.... must be he is too busy getting girls phone #'s that come into his job. I just recently found out how he tried to pick up a couple of girls that I personally know..... can you say scum? Anyway just needed to vent. Thanks for listening

It is bewildering when men react this way in marriages to the surgery. Unfortunately for some this is what they do to keep trying to get you back to that 'safe' size for THEM..

As you and I discussed,my young aussie hubby?...I got too small for him and he just couldn't deal with it. To this day is bewildering. No one could figure that out either!

Sounds to me like he's making a choice, and you aren't part of his plans. You've found out about a couple of his attempts - what are the odds there are more that you don't know about? Do you think this dog knows what to do if he catches a car?

You might have noticed I have a pretty low tolerance threshold for pond scum like this. They tend to give all guys a bad name.

You may have a decision to make yourself in the near future. Wouldn't hurt to prepare yourself mentally (at least) for it when it comes, 'cause you might have to be real tough to survive the turmoil. Do what you have to do to protect you and your kids, 'cause it doesn't sound like that's his top priority.

Maybe you could ask him to help you workout with your martial arts??

I hate to see this kind of thing happen. I watched my mom go through it 45 years ago. It was really hard on her, but she did what she had to do, and it worked out for the best for us.

If you don't want to use him as a punching bag, do you mind if I have the pleasure of doing so? Be strong and love yourself!!!! And remember - cougars are quite popular right now - perhaps you should prepare yourself for a prowl.

Your situation stinks. No other way to put it. Remember, you have chosen a drastic measure (WLS) to improve and yes, perhaps even save your life. It's sad that your husband either can't grasp that or doesn't care. However...

You can't be responsible for how the husband thinks or feels. You can be responsible for how you think and feel, how your kids are cared for, and the choices you make. You are responsible for taking care of yourself. You've done an incredible job of taking charge of your life. Look at you...100lbs GONE! Please continue taking care of yourself, even if it means making some difficult decisions. You deserve better treatment than you're getting from your husband.

My advice...don't make any rash decisions but don't be afraid to make tough decisions. Be good to yourself. You are worth it!

They don't change! My husband wasn't supportive of my surgery, we split up 3 months ago. I had my surgery 2 weeks ago. I have been married for 19 years, it is nice so nice not having him around to bring me down! Be strong and do whatever you have to do! It is all about you!!
