Angry I can't believe this!!!!!!

So since my surgery in dec.09 I have struggled daily, questioning myself at every turn even self doubt. So last night I went to bed and my husband said did u watch the news,I said no my stomach hurts. He then says it's because you are eating stuff you know you can't have.I was pissed so I said, you tell me what you've seen me eat that was not "right".....dead silence, then he says I will not say anything else to help you if you want to regain the almost 80 pounds you've lost so far.I told him thats a heck of a way to be supportive I'd HATE TO HEAR HIS NEGATIVE THOUGHTS!!!!!!Then he said you have done very good so far he was proud of me! Thank you for listening, just needed to rant!!!!!!!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I'm of the belief that men can be complete tards. Just remind yourself that this is his way of looking out for you. It sounds bad and we don't always want to hear it, but sometimes we NEED to hear it. Keep your head up, and try to let him keep his attached We're here for you!

I don't think men have a monopoly on this, though! Peanut said a few things about my progress in my early days post-op that were uncalled for. Now that she's 14 months post herself, I sometimes remind her about them just to watch her cringe!! We can laugh about it now, but a couple of years ago? It's a good thing I can let things flow on past without internalizing them ...

I can't relate to what you're feeling because my boyfriend still haven't made any comment that way to me about the surgery. Actually we just don't talk about it often. There was one time last week we were talking about a friend of his that is very obese and he said "maybe next time he meets you he can see how well you're doing and decides to go for it" (last time I saw him was in New Year's and I told him I was having the surgery and he said he didn't want to talk about it because his sisters had problems and he didn't want to scare me). Also last saturday we were at my sister-in-law's birthday and my boyfriend's family was asking him about my surgery and he just said "she's normal but just eats very little".

Anyway, back to you... Since your husband came and told you he was proud and bladibla maybe he meant the wrong food not in a sense of it being wrong in terms of fat/sugar but in terms of you knowing you ate something that upsets your stomach? Some post-ops can't handle different food for some time (and even for life). Some do not tolerate milk, others fruit, others bread and so on. And if your stomach hurting is often you can maybe relate to some food or if not you should go see your doctor as it could be a stricture or an ulcer or something else. Better be safe than sorry.

Thank you all for your words of encouragement(i love this site)We talked about it today and to make a long story short I worked with someone who had the surgery and she thought of it as a easy way out, eating the same way after wls as she did prior to it. My husband said he just doesn't want that same fate as hers to happen to me.I told him I appreciate his concern but i'm not that crazy or foolish !!!! thanks ya'll

Call it a guy thing but I didn't see anything wrong with what he said. You were sick, he thought that it had something to do with what you ate, That makes sense to me. I have not had a cold, or the flue since surgery. Every time I have gotten sick it has been food related. Granted he could have worded it better. But he had good intentions. My wife gets mad at me all the time because I bug her about her eating. She doesn't get that I am not doing it to be a pain, I am doing it because I love her and want her to live a long healthy life with me.
