| Newbie |  New to the forum Hello, my name is Missy. My mother is just 4 days post op from having Gastric Bypass. I was definitly NOT for this from the first day she mentioned this surgery. There just seemed to be way to many risks. And I was NOT ready to lose my mother! But I had soon realized it was not MY choose to make, it was hers. Let me tell you, waiting for her to come out of surgery was the longest hour and a half in my life! I would like to help my mother through this journey of hers. It's nice to know this forum is here if I ever need advice. Mom has been home for 2 days now and she is doing amazingly well. I'm sure there will be rough times ahead so I have told her about this forum. And i'm sure she will join us as soon as her internet is connected. |

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery. Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.  |

BUT the risks for me from the surgery didnt out way the daily risk of the heat attack or stroke i was at risk for at such a high weight..... NOW 143 lbs lighter i live life! I have tons of energy! wearing clothes that i like, not just cause they fit! PLEASE feel free to ask any questions you might have regarding your moms recovery everyone here will chime in and be of tons of help! WELCOME to the forums.

| Hello There! Welcome Missy, and Mother! I am glad to hear that your mother is doing soooooooo well. It's always good to hear when patients come through the surgery well, with no complications. The wife was not for my surgery either at first. She was scared that I wouldn't come out of the surgery room. Perfectly normal feeling, I suppose, for wifey, and you. Can't wait until your mother can come visit this AWESOME site for herself. Not that we don't welcome you, Missy. You will be probably, one of her biggest supporters now, and will need coaching in whatever you may be feeling right now, or just asking your mother's questions. Post whatever is on your mind, Missy.
