Ok so I am almost a year out and have done well as my dr says but I have a loved one (mom) Who is not happy that I am not a size 6..I seems like its not good enough in fact she says I should ask my dr to go in and do it again It makes me so mad everyone says how good I have done and how good I look but here she is saying I need to lose more DUH I know that and I am still working on it and I told her I will still lose but its slower now. WOW She is driving me crazy. She made feel bad that it was not good enough I have come along way and I am still not done!!

Sounds like she needs to be given some medical literature about weigh loss after this surgery so that she can see that the weight loss does slow down. Maybe (hopefully) she is just misinformed.

I bet you mom doesn't have a problem with her weight does she? Sometimes the ones you love the most can hurt you the most. Don't worry you have done a great job. If you doctor thinks so and you think so that is what matters. Sometimes people just don't understand wls at all. That is why this is such a great place. We have been there done that and we understand very well. Don't let this burst your bubble. Be happy at what you have accomplished and keep going. That will be the best thing you can do for yourself.

Oh my gosh, you have done really well, keep up the good work and don't let negative thoughts impact your progress. Remind yourself how far you have come and why you are doing this.

I have a spouse that is not supportive either. I haven't heard one positive comment about my weight, how I look etc. When asked, I hear that I didn't agree with you having the surgery to begin with. end of subject.
My mom is supportive and very good about trying to keep my moral up. I am down 59 pounds from my high point and only one person has commented at work and she sits next to someone who is considering the surgery so I think she actually knew I had it. Other than that I still get a lot of "I almost didn't recognize you with your hair cut." I got it cut in July before I took off for surgery...
It's all good, the weight you have lost has already made a big impression on what you future health will be, don't let her rain on your parade.

I'm so sorry your mother can't be more supportive I think you are doing wonderful though.... take pride in what you have achieved and comfort in your friends who seem to make up for her lack of support. "I know we are all very proud of you" woo hoo!!!! -95 pounds what a huge accomplishment.

Umhh - just a crazy notion here, but did she ever say you weren't giving her grandchildren fast enough? (That was the one we used to get from Peanut's mom for the first 10-15 years we were married. As if maybe we hadn't figured out how ...?) SHEEESH!!!!

Honey I think your Mom probally said this outta not liking you being the size you are now unless she is a very tiny woman? Its hard when its family. Its not like someone else you can walk away from I know that. Tell your mom how you feel and see what her reaction is. The world is hard enough without having being told somthing like that to add to it. Im sorry she said that...... Honey you have done great. I wish I was your size. Im not. Im double your size in clothes. She would tell me the same LOL. Smile honey you know how far you have come in your heart. Let that keep you going...... not a snide remark ok?

Ignore her rudeness. When I was 85 # down my mom said "I thought you were losing weight" yea right, then my almost bald brother says 'wow you're bald', I dont let them bother me, what they think doesn't matter. It's the people who care about me that matter, and that is all of you folks. Thanks for all the support, I wish you all the same. You have lost 95#, YOU GO GIRL......
