 |  I am an emotional wreck!
Today my 12 year old basset hound passed away! He was to me one of my kids! He grew up with my 12 year daughter! We bought him when she was 2 months old and damn it hurts! He was such an amazing dog and meant the world to us! He was my best friend! Buddy was bought for me as an engagement ring lol he really was! My late husband did not want a dog and I wanted a basset so bad! Well when he asked me to Marry him instead of putting a ring on my finger he had a bow wrapped around his kneck and got down on one knee and asked if I would marry them! Not only is my husband gone but so is the one thing that was my total conection to him! Buddy was so full of personality and soo great he always put a smile on our face no matter how down we were! I am sorry I know this has nothing to do with the weightloss but I just need to vent! I feel like a piece of me died today to! And my kids say it is one of the final links to dad! I remember when Mike passed away buddy was the only thing that could comfort me! He would lay there cuddled up to me as I cried and screamed and cried some more and he just listened! He has done that more times than I care to count! Or if the kids were sick he would just lay with them he is actually the one that got us when my oldest had his first seizure! And if one of the kids stayed the night somewhere he would pace the floor and sleep by the door! He was extremly protective of us and would let you know he didnt like someone or something was wrong! I will stop rambling I just dont know how to deal with this! Thanks for listening or reading if you made this far! And again sorry just needed to write about him! R.I.P Buddy Boy Curtiss

I am so sorry to hear that. I had a big Bassett when I was pregnant with my twins and we used to joke that he was the third triplett.. LOl. When he was 6 I noticed lumps in his stomach. We brought him to many vets but they said they were through his stomach and digestive system. He was eating grass and throwing up all the time. we had to put him down...it was a very terrible thing. I cried all the way home and got into a car accident. Messed up the front of my car... that was a bad sad day. It would be 5 years before I could get another pet..I loved that bassett. Kids would come to my fence on the way home from school to get him howling.... his name was Brutus. Good dog.....
