Exclamation tired of jealousy

So, I am close to goal. I have friends of all shapes and sizes. And of course now that I am looking awesome and healthy people will make comments about my looks. "You're looking to skinny," and "how much more do you intend to lose?!" Personally, I think I look great. And I have actually been thinner in my life. It just bothers me that in the beginning, these same people acted so supportive, and now they are bringing me down.
I try and stay away from them as much as possible, but when they are supposed to be your best friends, it makes it so difficult.
I have come to conclusion that I would rather live my life healthy and without people like that, than unhealthy and surrounded by people who seem to accept me.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I haven't. Thankfully everyone has been very supportive. I guess you can tell them that your goal weight will give you a BMI that is medically healthy and normal and that you are under a doctor's care and thank them for their concern, but you're good.

You have stripped away their excuses and shown that if a person wants it bad enough, she can make it happen. They are spectators. You are living life. You may be making them feel inadequate, and your newfound confidence is changing your relationships with everyone, whether you know it or not.

When a relationship is stable and one person changes while the other stays put, it puts a strain on the whole thing. Many here have lost "friends" of the fair-weather variety, but no one has ever lost a true friend though this process. Spouses are included in this, too. If a relationship is built on anything other than true love, it probably won't make it.

It's their loss. You've proven that you can take on the world on your terms and win. They haven't. They can only bring you down. You're wise to recognize this. It may hurt, but no one here ever told you it'd be easy, did they?

Rather a common story, sorry to say. As CT said, the whole journey will show the true colors of your friends and family. Stay strong, always believe in yourself!

All that matters is that you feel great. You can never please people all the time. You only need to please two people in life, the first one is God, and the second is you. You have fought the battle of the bulge and you're doing fabulous. Keep up the good work and go for the gold. Best of luck.

I wouldn't worry about comments like that - to me they don't sound harmful or negative (of course, I can't hear the inflection in their voices).

If you feel your friends are being jealous, then definitely remove yourself from them - there is no need for you to have that in your life. Everyone serves a purpose in our lives - even if it's just temporarily.

I'm sorry for the negative responses you have received. There will always be people who need to make themselves feel better at your expense. You really haven't lost anything, true friends are there thru "Thick and Thin"

I have been at this a long time now. Some people are happy for you. Some people are surprised that you actually did do it...but are still happy that you did. Some people said they were happy for you but really are not and more than likely hoped you would fail or re-gain the weight. I unfortunately have a few of those in my life (I haven't even made my goal yet…) and it kinda sucks the joy from your accomplishment. Especially so if they are overweight as well and you tried and succeeded at something they can only wish for. CT hit it right on the head. Do not let them suck out your joy over your weight loss. Easier said than done…I know. Congratulations….all of us are really happy about your success!!!
