I'm sorry about what you experienced at church. That must have been very disheartening. Its very strange how people react to weight loss. I think theres a lot of truth to the concept that people "need" us to be a certain thing for their own psychological reasons.
Just keep in mind that you are so much more healthy and you did what you needed to do for yourself.
Best wishes and prayers for your surgery tomorrow!

If they can't show a charitable Christlike attitude to one of God's precious daughters, what are they there for? And it sure isn't your problem.
Church is to make bad people good and good people better, but they have to try, too!! In the meantime, you keep on doing what you know is right and let them account to God the way they have to. You have to forgive them, but you don't have to associate with them! And you certainly shouldn't let their weaknesses bring you down!
And, no, I don't think you're a sideshow freak! Or any other kind of freak, either!!

Elizabeth I'm sorry about the way you are being treated by church folks, it's just not right but then unfortunately Christians don't always act Christlike.
Good luck tomorrow we will be thinking about you and praying all goes well. Check in when you can!

I'm sorry Elizabeth, unfortunately many Christians today have forgotten that to be a Christian means to be Christ like. Don't worry about them, their remarks or their treatment, God watches and knows all. "vengeance is mine sayeth the Lord". Let God deal with them. As for you, we are all proud of your accomplishments. Don't let anyone make you feel less than worthy of all you've done. It was not an easy road and you made it through all the way to victory. Unless they walk a mile in your shoes, they will never understand what you've been through...God bless.

| Elizabeth, I totally agree with the others and it's a shame that the un-Christ likeness is happening in your own church. YOU ARE NOT A FREAK! I will be praying that all goes well with your surgery tomorrow. Please let us know how you are doing because we care. Hugs |

It is too bad that people with their own petty jealousness feel the need to make others feel bad in order to feel better about themselves. I would reckon that you primarily got the surgery and lost the weight not because you wanted to look fabulous in jeans but because you wanted to live longer, make life easier by being able to breathe better and reducing your health risks for certain weight related diseases. But THEY want to make you feel back for the one outward sign that your body is healthier. I am sorry they need that in their lives. I am happy you did this for yourself and you are doing a surgery that will make you feel good.
Your achievement. Enjoy it. Don't let anyone make you feel bad about it. Your body is a temple...remember?
Safe operation tomorrow.
