Default Who was/is your biggest support?

Who was your biggest support person or who is your biggest support person during this surgery and journey?

I have to say that my mother was my biggest and strongest support person and still is. Of course she was scared to death but that is why she came with me to my first seminar, my first surgeon consult and followed me and coached me every step of the way. Even to this day she is watching and helping me all the time. I dont know what i would do without her and i hope i am doing a good a job as her with my own daughter as she does with me!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I have to say that my biggest support person is roo. He doesn't mind letting me talk about what's coming and always holds me when i break into tears for how things have been. (funny i haven't cried yet about the food i'm gonna miss), followed very closely by my dad and my brothers girlfriend. As silent as my brother is with me about EVERYTHING his girlfriend is a chat machine. She e-mails me everyday and asks me what changes i've made today towards the surgery, what worries me about the surgery,, and i lent her my binder with the information and she read it over 3 times. My dad read it to and spent 3 hours with me in a coffe shop going over everything

I would have to say that my best support right now is my husband, other than that there would have to be my friends here online and my friends at church that have had the surgery. I am so blessed in life to have so much help and support during this process. There are not really anybody that isn't supportive outright so far. My mom in law is a little leary, but I think she will come along eventually and if not, oh well.

Default hello L.L.Marie

I was going through the older posts and stumbled across this one, even before I became a member. I thought it would ge a great one to start up again, so I just had to post.
My wife, JESS, had to have been my ulimate supporter through my whole weightloss. SHE WAS AWESOME WITH IT. I have to admit though, she was not for it in the beginning. She was scared to death to have me go under the knife, and she made that very clear. After I came out of it though, their has never been a day yet, that she hasn't called me skinny, tiny, little boy butt, or something to that effect. lol I love her for all the support she has given me through it all. Now, she is just concerned for me not to lose anymore. lol You guys were all great to, and ran a close second though. YOU ARE ALL THE BEST.

I would have to say my entire family has been a huge help. The people I work with have been great and my online family here at renewed reflections has been a huge help. Also my friend Kim who had the surgery just a couple of months before me has been a great source of info as well.

Well, this is an easy one. It's my husband, of course! He has been amazing in every sense of the word! He reads all sorts of stuff and even sends me emails or makes copies of interesting stuff about my journey and what to expect. He cheers every single pound that comes off. He knows when I am alittle down and he goes out of his way to do lil special things to cheer me up...even if it's just a quick phone call in the middle of the day to check on me.

He is amazing......I remeber my first trip to the grocery store.....I was like 5 days post op (I think) and right in the middle of the grocery store I started crying because I realized I bit off more that I could chew....and the tears welled up in his eyes...he felt bad....

I can't say enough good things....hoonest....I could go on and on....

Heavy sigh....

I think I cheated a little in this area because I only told people who would really support my decision.

My Sister, Mom and Mom-in-law are my biggest supporters. My Sister is my cheerleader. She encourages and notices everything. My Mom is the cautious one that makes sure everything is healthy. She searches the web and provides me with information and encouragement. My Mom-in-law is my mentor. She went through this a year before I did with the same doctors. She gives me practical advice and encouragement.

I'm so very blessed and I wish everyone could have the wonderful love and support I have.

I know this is an older post but I see alot of newbies here and maybe they want to add their input...So newbies...Who is your biggest support?

I do have to say that my mom still remains my biggest support but I have been lucky enough to have so much support from my husband {alot more then i truely expected } as well as my kids...They are so good to me. I also have made so many new friends, people i can talk to that have gone through this experience and who dont judge me but help me feel positive about this whole journey...and hopefully i do the same for them! Anyway who is next??
