Default My poor sweet hubby

So I must be gettings nervous with the surgey only 13 days away, and my hubby came home from working second shift around 12:00 midnight last night and I start talking his ears off until 2:30 am!!!! I had to get up at 5:30 to go to work. LOL

He just sat there and listened and mumbled agreements whenever I stopped for breath. The thing is, I NEVER talk like that - people always call me the quiet one!

Poor guy.

Poor me. I am going to be sooooo sleepy later.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Kudos to your hubby.
And to you for going off to work after only 3 hours of sleep.
Quite the normal pre-op reaction, I'd say.

Default Awww!

He seems like the perfect hubby. Truly Barbie, I believe that it is harder on the spouse than the person going through it for many reasons. I had to deal with the same thing with my wife before my surgery. She is also known as the quiet one, and can't really verbally open up to me face to face, so I got the most beautiful letter beforehand that a person could ever get. She told me all her fears and hopes in this letter. It actually brought tears to my eyes. I knew right then and there how much she deeply cared for me. Not that I didn't know it before. It gave me more inspiration than ever to want to go ahead with the surgery to be around for her til, as we said in our wedding vows, death do us part. I couldn't have come this far without my dear Jess. From one guy to another, tell hubby to stick with being there for you, and to take care of himself. He will need all the energy he can get with keeping up with his loving wife, after she starts to shed the pounds. I know it can be very very stressful on the spouse. I do feel for him, and am going through that very same thing with wifey now. On the 31st, she has to undergo a complete hysterectomy. I am worried greatly for her right now, but don't let her know how much. I think she know, but I don't want her to be worrying about me, so she can go into surgery with a good attitude, knowing hubby will be waiting for the love of his life when she wakes up. Tell him that everything will go according to planned, and the surgery will be over. I don't know the extent of the conversation you two had, but alot of things factor in when a person is having that kind of surgery. I guess all you can do, and I think you did it, is to try your best to ease his gitters. A big hug from me Barbie, and tell hubby to HANG IN THERE, and try not to worry. mike

Like everyone else has said, this is normal. Sounds like you have a great hubby.

Hang in there you will make it.

Barbie, I know how nervous and excited you must be--but I will say a prayer that our heavenly Father will guide the doctors hands that day. Your hubby sounds like a great guy, being there for you till 2:30 in the AM after working all night. I know he'll be there for you after surgery--then you both get to enjoy your new life together--Best of luck to you, and please let us know how you are doing.

MIKE-A prayer also for the love of your life--hope her surgery goes well. How lucky that the two of you have each other.

Default Thanks!

Thanks Diane. That is what I love about this site. Everyone needs support in one way or another and we are all here for each other to give it. I am trying to get aquainted with all the new people on the boards. I have been absent alot of the summer being very active. I hope to get to know all of you a bit better through posting. I will let you all know how it goes. I suppose I can get my rear off here now, and make some lunch so I can get to work this afternoon. Thanks again for thinking of me next Friday. mike

OMG..how sweet. Mike you brought goosebumps to me on that! I wish the best for you and your wife with her surgery. Having a caring spouse is so beneficial in life, especially when you are going through surgery. My husband sat up nights "researching" the gastric bypass when I told him that I wanted to do it. I wouldnt be here today if it werent for him and his devotation to me. Mine is definately my better half!!!

Thanks everybody. Yes, he's a good man and I know how lucky I am. I very much agree with Mike, it IS harder on the one who has to just stand by and have faith, especial for a man because men think they have to fix everything and sometimes they just can't.

Yes Doc, it was really hard to come in to work, but I'm saving every minute of leave for the surgery so I didn't want to waste a day.

Getting very sleepy now.
