| MY SIL did G-bypass too!!!
Hello everyone,
My sister in law was on a 6 months battle with herself whether she really needs to do the gastric bypass or not!
she's 40, 115kg, lazy thyroid (almost dead) --> low metabolism rate!, desk/back problem, workaholoic, mom of 3. She was on serious medical conditions and was still thinking: should I go for it, or not?
I had a lot of impact on her decision. I took her to my surgeon maybe 4 months ago and she was so against it because she was afraid that this surgery might have side effects in the future! he said one statement: the dangers of not doing it on your health is much much worse!
so.....
she was admitted last Thursday August 23, another surgeon did it for her, who's I'm really impressed with. He visits her like twice a day in the hospital (he really cares about his patient, unlike my surgeon whom I saw maybe one time in the hospital after my surgery!)
She's now IV-ed, and monitored by her surgeon. she's doing really great comparing to me (3 surgeries, open). She feels nauseated bcoz of the anesthesia and pain killer drugs, otherwise everything is just perfect.
They will put her under clear liquids starting from tomorrow, she's really enthusiastic about it...
the only thing that bothered me that she didn't respect my privacy and revealed my secret about my surgery (I consider it very personal issue) to her in laws and coworkers to convince them about the procedure, which put me into confrontations with people!!! I felt so much annoyed talking to people who are out of your area of friends and relatives and justify myself made me think: what the hell is your problem! it's my life and I opted to lose weight with this tool help! Duh!
Anyhow, I'm happy for her..
please keep her in your prayers
will keep you posted about her progress.
Love,
Hanadi

| Hey Chups!
I am sooooooooooo glad that everything turned out so well for sissy. As far as the personal thing about the surgery...that is a different story. Your privacy should have been respected. I imagine how upset you must have been, and that is understandable. Chin up Chups. Right now, you be proud of what you have done, and how far you have come. I hope this little vote of cofindence has helped. Again, I will keep everyone of you in my prayers. A big hug from me Chups. mike

Awww (((((HUGS))))) for you first.
Sorry about how your SIL went about telling on you, I hope she'll realize what's been done, once she is well on her way.
In the meanwhile, congrats to your SIL in joining the Loser's Bench.
Also, you now have someone who will really understand what this is about, and I hope you'll be able to be the best supporters with eachother, despite the fact that some things started out the wrong way.
My very best wishes for both you and your SIL.

| So glad to hear all is well with your SIL... And do not be to hard on her perhaps she did not realize just how deep and personal this surgery can be. I have been very private with my decision as well and only told those within my family. I hope you two can work this out and it is just a bump in the road for you two.. Remember to forgive is divine and to err is human.. And boy can we do that well..
