Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Some of us whisper, some of us shout. Either way I believe we are each doing the best we can to manage the emotions and feelings associated with being obese and then taking drastic action to get control of our health. There is no right or wrong way when it comes to communicating about our surgery. FOR me i didnt tell everyone. I told immediate family and my clients.MY dad I told, and he felt this was far to drastic. HOW i wish he lived to see how happy and successful it went for me. I told my clients because of my line of work I didnt want them to think i had a contagious desease with all my sudden doctor appointments so i told them. NOW i am more open about things when people ask HOW DID YOU LOOSE ALL THE WEIGHT? but in the same breath I dont start the topic unless brought up by another. JUST me....hope this helps~

| WLS Mentor | i have told my mother and father, Roo and one other friend. My mother ended up taking care of telling everybody and their brother that i'm going to have this surgery. in some ways i was angry about this but then the reaction i got wasn't as bad as i thought it would be, well except with my brother and my mom herself. but my friend helped me by telling me that i was doing what i had to for my health and what other people thought should be of little importance since i know what it's like trying to live at this weight and they don't.

| WLS Mentor | i definately agree femme, (and i haven't had the surgery yet), this is anything but an easy way out. If anybody says it is they are definetly not informed enough. i see the work that you all are doing and i am inspired but nervous that i may not handle things as well. I can only hope that i can be as strong as you all are. that's part of why i am so grateful to God for this site and to Craig and all the beautiful people here and all of the support that you all give. i don't think i can ever say thank you enough for all the support i've been given so far and all of the support i am hoping to have in the future. freebird

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Great to see you here!! Wow...great loss....and you are only 2mos post op....that is awesome. Are you feeling like you've integrated your new "eating style" with life yet.?? That is a huge challeng. I am about 3 weeks post op...and am still try to do this...It's a challenge not to think about food all the time...and have to see - "did I get my protein in??" "Am I drinking enough??" I am not by far on any sort of routine yet...though I'm sure that would help!! Tell us how you are dealing with it all?? Thanks for posting!!

| WLS Mentor | wow kritchie your doing great! it's funny how you all say intergrating your new eating habits with your old life style. for me i think of it more as a total new life style with the changed eating habits as part of that. i mean things are changing right? More energy, healthy food choices, rate of eating, eating regularly schedualed meals, better self image as the weight comes off, and more and more pyhsical things that you can do as the weight comes off. Who knows maybe i'll see it different post-op but that's how i see it now. freebird
