Default Oatmeal Question

I have been using oatmeal in my meatloaf but it really amounts to very little when I eat meatloaf. I will keep on useing oatmeal in my meatloaf becasue i am losing weight at a good rate. My question is would it be bad for me to try and make some no bake cookies, you know those oatmeal with cococ and sugar type that you cook and add oatmeal and drop onto the wax paper. My plan was to use splenda for the sugar & coco powder, and then I want to use some oatmeal with some protein cereal and some protein powder. I think I can do a pretty good job on the other stuff it is just the oatmeal I am concerned about. Is it a healthy food or a carby food, because it has kinda a lot of carbs, makes me unconforable about the oatmeal. So I was just wondering about your opinion. If I can keep the oatmeal down I think I will be ok. But wondering what your opinions are about oatmeal.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I think it would be just fine considering the stage your at now. Nothing like trying it out to see what happens. I have to force myself to eat different foods right now. I noticed I got into such a rut with the foods Im eating. After speaking to the surgeon he told me to change it up some instead of the same stuff. My weight has been doing good to. Yes its slowed to what he told me it would but im very happy with it. Let know how this comes out Kitty. I would love to try it myself.

i say try it too. oatmeal is good for you. it is a carb but it is whole grain which is good for you. we need some carbs inour diet. better to have whole grain ones that the "white" ones. and if you follow the "everything in moderation" rule you should be fine with it let us know how they turn out.

If I get a chance to do it, I will try it out this weekend. I will let you all know how it turns out and will post the recipe. I want to make the cookie so that it is a healthy and loaded with protein and with a little crunch to it. I am excited to try it. Thanks for your opinions and gives a better light on the oatmeal.

You're about 8 months out, so you should be able to eat regular oatmeal. I'm 22 months out, and I have the 1 minute instant oatmeal from the round "can" by Quaker Oats. The 5 minute version has more texture to it. I've had both, and have one version or the other daily. I fix oatmeal for my wife and myself, and we've both had rny surgery. She has surgery in late July, 07. We both tolerate this oatmeal fine. Our surgeon said not to eat oatmeal until we were about 6 months out, as it was a little hard to digest with a new pouch.
