Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass    |  Agave Nectar Sweetner = BAD!!! I went to Kansas City to visit my mom for Mother's Day and I think she nearly killed me! She made me try a sweetner called Agave. It comes from a plant similar to Tequila. Anyway, it is supposed to be all natural, but says it has 15 g of sugar per serving. I told my mom that I have had bad reactions to every sweetner except aspartame (Equal). Splenda put me in the hospital for a month soon after my surgery. I decided to please mom and put the sweetner in my coffee, cereal, and tea throughout the day. I probably had about 6 servings of the sweetner in total (90 g of sugar!!!) By day's end I was cramping severly and dry heaving.  I was sweating and screaming in a ball on the floor in their bathroom. I never felt as much pain as I experienced in those cramps. My parents were getting ready to take me to the hospital when I finally passed out from exhaustion and when I woke the pains were gone. Anyway, I just wanted to pass it on that Agave was not a good choice for me, so beware! It is so hard for me to find things I can eat that do not have sugar or splenda in them, but I finally found an egg protien made by Jay Robb (Jay Robb Official Site - The Fruit Flush 3 Day Detox, The Fruit Diet, All Natural Whey Protein Powder) that I can handle. All the other powder protiens have splenda in them. |

My joints litteraly kill me. I have a brother it does the same thing to. If i dont know its in what ever I consume I know the next am. I will be bedfast in pain. I found this out through trial and error. Splenda is the worst for me to. Thank you again for the heads up and Im glad you recovered. |
