Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Chicken and fish is a primary staple for most bypass patients. There are other sources of protein too, so go to WHFoods: protein for an extensive list of about 55 protein rich sources of foods. Dried peas are also an excellent source, 6 grams per 1/4 cup, link on my signature line. Good luck. DAVE

Good for you. I dont know any veges. but protein is a big issue after WLS and meats are a great source of proteins. I have troubles with meats often but I do try to get as much in as I can. Good Luck!

After gastric bypass surgery i gave up all meat. I did try to eat meat after doc cleared me, but it did not sit well with my stomach. I bought vegetarian & vitamin books and educated my self. I honestly dont miss meat. I do have to work on getting my protein in every day.

Just be sure that
1) you get in the required total amount of protein
2) understand that veggie based protein may not cover all of the 10 essential amino acids that we need daily, so confirm the amino acid contents of the protein and make sure that you are getting in ALL of the 10 essential amino acids.

Info on protein

I've been veg a real long time (and still somehow managed to eat my way to super morbidly obese!!!) so I'm pretty framiliar w/ alternative protien sources. I was just wondering which ones you guys are having the most sucess with. I am just starting real foods now (softer ones) I have had some miso tofu soup and tofu salad (like egg salad) that went well but what about foods like tempeh and TVP? TVP is very processed and I'm kinda afraid to try it. I miss those yummy tvp tacos and "burgers"though! Lol. Maybe someday? I'm just wondering about the future and if I'll ever be able to eat certian foods again.
