Default Question about bread?

I have noticed that some are eating whole wheat bread or whole wheat grain breads. The ones that are eating whole wheat or grain breads, how does it settle on the pouch, is it light or does it sit heavy. I am scared to try the whole grain bread, just the fact I have heard about it sitting to heavy and balling up in the pouch. With gastric bypass can a person ever eat grain breads again as far out as I am in my surgery. Lately I am craving whole wheat 7 grain bread. That is all my husband and I have been eating for years before surgery, I was thinking in the line of a cheese sandwich or a radish sandwich. I bet you are thinking what in the world is a radish sandwich. What that is, is a slice of bread with butter on it and radishes sliced in half and layed on the bread and just a little salt on it and WA LA a sandwich and oh how I love them and that I really miss. My sister had one at my folks and oh how I wanted to rip that sandwich away from her and eat it myself. ha ha

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I eat bread kitty......I can almost eat 1/2 a sandwich now....I've just eaten regular whole wheat bread....and I do better if it's toasted. My deal has always been to limit carbs as much as possible, so I do not have bread every day. Maybe once a week....

Try a little toasted to start with....and go from there. Keep in mind, a sandwich is a LOT of bread...and takes up a lot of space.....chances are, you would do better with a RADISH FOLDOVER (1/2 sandwich)!!

I do the bread as well, but only when it is toasted. I do as Kath said, a "rollover" and it about half of that and pick the rest of the stuff out. I dont buy any bread for me, so most of the time I use a low carb wrap or a piece of the "boys" bread...Wonder Kids with vitamins and minerals.
I have eaten a grilled cheese samich ones and all I did was take a bite or two and then peel the cheese out of it and eat that. The family gets their new enjoyment from watching me eat now! "What will she do with her food NEXT"!

Kitty Im Almost A Year Out Now And Thru Out This Journey I Have Never Done Well With Breads Till Now. So It Might Also Take Some Time Till YOUR Pouch Will Accept It. I Do Have My Bad Days Though With Breads But All And All At Least Most Days I Can Tolerate It Now.

Like The Others Said Start Out With It Toasted Thats What I Usually Do. I Can Only Do Half A Sandwich And I Also Like To Keep A Limit On My Breads So I Dont Do It Everyday.

I can do bread- I keep it minimal since I want to get in the protein, and because it just doesn't taste as good as it used to. Try a teeny bit and see how it feels.

I eat bread no problem but only in much smaller amounts than I used to. If I get a 6" subway I take off the bottem bread and toss it out and then rip the top bread in half and throw the other half out. I end up eating all of the stuff inside with a fork. Whole wheat english muffins work well and are very filling.

I have 'Home Pride' wheat bread toasted, almost every morning. I have no problem with it. But if I try to eat a sandwhich on a roll, gets a little gummy and heavy feeling in the pouch.
