| Cottage Cheese
What can I do to dress up my cottage cheese? I am about burnt out on it, but I eat at least once a day because it gives me the added protein. I usually eat it with tomatoes or with a little bit of salsa, but I'm tired of eating it that way too. I know some people like it with peaches or pineapple, but fruit and cottage cheese just don't sound good to me at all.
So, what are your favorite ways to eat cottage cheese?

I love it with fruit. My favorite is pineapple, but also like it with blueberries(which are just starting to get ripe here), kiwi and watermelon. I don't like it plain at all.

Hum, I love cottage cheese. I usually put it with some cucumbers on top, sort of like a dip then. But is all mixed up. I also add some onion for more of a flavor to it.
Could always add some type of protein meat to it. Maybe some tuna on the bottom, and add the cottage cheese on top??
I was gonna mention the fruit, like a peach, or something down that line, but beings that doesn't appeal to you...
Beings you seem to have this as an added food, sort of a snack, I am hoping that others will give some great suggestions to you.
Good question you brought up though....

Thanks for the suggestions! I think I may have to try it with fruit and cucumber too! I love both. I use it instead of the protein shakes. Since surgery I haven't been able to tolerate hardly anything sweet so I figure cottage cheese is the next best thing since a 1/2 c has 13 grams of protein.

I got a little burned out on cottage cheese post-op, but when I do eat it, it is with tabasco or just pepper.

I like it plain or I put some pepper and a little bit of cream and some chopped onions in it. Than another way I eat it and I love this recipe. I use a carton of cottage cheese and then I add one pkg. sugarfree orange jello and then I added coolwhip, the low carb or I use the carb free cream that comes in a can. And then mix it all up and oh is this ever delicious. Once you are farther out which I first did a few months out, I added a can of drained manderine oranges to the cottage cheese with the rest of the ingredients. Or you can do a different flavor jello, and then use a can of drained fruit coctail. I ate alot of this early out.

Diana, that sounds yummy! Is it very sweet? I still haven't been able to handle sweet, sweet things. So far watermelon has been ok, but I've been afraid to try anything else.

I would try half of the jello or so and taste it once you have the coolwhip in it. I do not know how else to down the sweetness to it. I guess I have a sweet tooth. But at the beginning I did not care for anything sweet either or all kinds of food. I actually hated food the first few months and this was one that I liked to eat and chili was the other one, but I first ate chili about month out. I drank alot of protein drinks to keep up with my protein. Then I also ate alot of protein pudding, becasue it is so high in protein and good tasting and I put on the carb free whip cream that comes in a can. Now a person gave me a hint on getting protein in to if you do not have the protein pudding on hand, he told me to use sugarfree pudding and add protein powder to that and that is really good and you can do lots of different flavors that way. I hope this helps. I know at the beginning it is so hard to come up with good protein foods to eat at the beginning.

| This happens to be an obsession of mine ~ has been for months. Did you check out the recipes section? I lived on a jello salad til I totally burned out on it but it was kinda sweet. Mostly now I do cc with blueberries or other type of berry and a tad of splenda. There is a recipe on here somewhere for ricotta cheese too, that sounded good.
