| Speaking of cravings... I want a huge slice of gooey cheese pizza! I know we are suppose to eat protein (hence the cheese) but I somehow think it wasn't meant to be piled on top of a wonderful thick piece of crust full of sweet tomatoe sauce! I have not eaten a slice of pizza, however I confess I have sucked the cheese and sauce off of one! Pathetic isn't it! The saying goes... You don't know what you got til it's gone? I do have a question. Being 3.5 months out, I find I am really hungry. It seems sometimes that I could eat more than a 1/4 cup in one sitting. Is this normal? Have I stretched my pouch? Also I have crossed the line with some sweets here and there, but have never experienced dumping. Is that normal also? It seems a bit scarey to me. I think I would rather experience it so it would teach me a lesson!

| donut I laugh at you! LOL *laughing so hard!!* Thank YOU Craig for your never ending honesty..yes..For a long time I sat there and told myself "I've had enough donuts or whatever the craving was for many lifetimes" But hey anymore..I find it's not worth making it such a HUGE thing! With my immediate entry into the small intestine..man oh man..if I want it that darn bad then I AM going to pay for it. Believe me for a loooooong time it doesn't "call to me" anymore. But when it does again..ha! I laugh at you donut! With my low blood sugar issue I often have to have something with sugar, I do best with the real stuff to get it up before I crash bad, then back it up with solid protein. I try to never get to that point but life steps in, I get busy then suddenly it's been hours before I last ate and whammo...! Shakes, trembling, heart racing, sweating and down on the ground..glucose <55 . {{{hugs}}} --bree

LOL!!!!! I thought about doing that today myself LOL! I didnt want to "hurt" myself thought being that I am only 3 weeks out, and i think I am getting hungry too.
In terms of dumping, form what I have read and from what people tell me, only some of us dump. Some can tolerate sugars and some cant. There isnt anyway to tell who can and cant unless they try it and experience it. I am too scared to even try something with sugar in it so I guess I will never know.
I wish I had more info for you. Its all so new to me. Maybe one of the old timers will be able to shed some light.

I am 4 weeks out now and find myslef missing all kinds of foods. I must be one of the lucky/unlucky ones that has experances dumping. THis is because I ate to fast (militray screwed that up for me) but I get upset thinking that I will never get to taste the stuff I use to enjoy from Ice Cream to Prime Rib stake. To day was my son's birthday and not being able to eat ice cream and cake with the rest made me feel bad.
Then they have BBQ ribs planned for tomorrow, yet again one of my fav's.
as for the Donut. OH HELL YEA , would love one right about now, I do find myself not being as hungry and that concers my wife. cause she knows I have to eat. but my body tells me I am not hungry . Ok now I am rabling I will leave it at that for now.

i think now that i am little further out i tend to get bold at times. If i want soemthing i try a little. I figure I'm not giong to ruin this opportunity because I am not eating ANYWHERE NEAR the amount i ate pre-op so if i want a taste i have a taste. I eat it VERY SLOW so i can catch myself. dumping doesnt necessarily mean puking. SO if i feel myself getting suddenly sleepy, or get the lump in my chest, I know I've had enough as well.
I havebnt really craved a particular thing. Im not into sweets, i was big on FOOD -meat and potatos kinda girl. The things that I crave are like real food items drenched in gravies and sauces lol. Wierd i know. I'd LOVE a piece of fried chicken with gravy, or a turkey sandwich (deli style with a mountain of turkey lol) drenched in russian/ thousand island ( FULL FAT) dressing....oh well...

I admit to being a carb and chocolate junkie pre-op. Now I can honestly say that chocolate doesn't interest me at all, but I still have to fight the carb cravings. I try to remind myself of the basic principles of the post op wls diet and have to bring myself back to that every so often. My search now is for healthy eating. I take a bite now and then from cakes, cookies or what not but to be honest, not very often. They just don't hold the same appeal as sugar used to. I do get stomach pains if I eat too much sugar, or sugar alcohols and the alcohols are actually worse and can make me toss my cookies quickly.
