Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Yes, we loose that ability to eat like we are savages but I would not go back to that now. I am perfectly content, most times, with what I can eat. Check out obesityhelp.com Great Site! I am a Support Group Leader and I am on line seeking advice and information to yake back to the group. I am 22 months post op. Down 135 lbs.
How about you? Remember, it is all a trade off, being thin and not eating all those foods that got us in trouble in the first place or have a life.

Christy, hehe (laughing with you not at you kiddo)

Wanna know what I do if I am craving a donut that bad?

I go get a freakin donut and eat it. Usually I dump, and I sure wish I hadn't of eaten that stupid donut.

Prior to the surgery I didn't get a choice of whether I would eat the donut. If I thought of it and could get one, there was no choice. It was GONE, and usually one wasn't enough.

Now this just might be for me, but today I don't play games with it. If I want it I go get it. If I want to maintain my success more than the donut, then I say that I want to not eat the donut. eaither way I am being honest in thought, and honest about the truth that I do what I want.

How many times did we eat stuff before and say "but I really didn't even want it".. For me that was just a lie and a game I would play in my head.

Do what you want to do kiddo, just be honest about what you really want, then do it.

Blessings,

Craig

I have been craving odd things, such as prune juice. I absoutely can not eat scrambled or soft boiled eggs. My taste budds, it seems, have changed and some things that I use to love (like coffee) taste terrible now. If I crave a dounut I breake off a piece and enjoy it, but that is all and I really don't want anymore. I've taken a liking for Cheez-it crackers in the red box. They are so easy to chew and go down so nice and taste wonderful. I have to be careful not to eat too many during the day even if I get the low fat. Anything that taste THAT good must be bad for you.
I haven't weighed myself yet because I don't want to be dissappointed, but my pants are baggy. I had my surgery on Jan 16. I know I don't eat enough protein so I have to concentrate on that. My foamies are better now that I take OTC prilosec but it still bugs me once in awhile. I dream about a California burger with extra mayo. I also have fantasies about a fresh salad with Ranch dressing....when can I have a salad?????? I did itch all over for a couple of weeks and that is over, thank the lord.
I am starting to feel better, but don't really have my energy back yet. I can't wait until I don't have to force myself to clean the house. Anyway, the Calcium pill are HUGE and hard to swallow and my vitamin chewables are gross so once in awhile I forget to take them.....
Enough whinning from me. We are all going through the same thing and this site has been a sorce of information for me and lots of comfort. Thanks so much everyone and HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY.

I never had a big problem with sweets before, Not that I stayed away completely either. But I seem to just want to taste something sweet a lot more post surgery. My aunt had surgery 2 years before me and she has the same issue, she said she uses hard candy to suck on and get over the craving.

Wow since we are on the suject of cravings I have to tell you all I was born and raised on pepsi. Now I know we are not supposed to drink beverages that are carbonated or that have caffeine. But I have been DYING for a pepsi. so i bought a 20 oz bottle of diet caffeine free pepsi. I shook ALL of the bubbles out of it until it was flat, and i took a sip. Its in the back of the frige just in case i get the urge again. I guess sometimes we give in to our temptations or what have you and that is fine. but we have to be honest about wanting and then having some or not in order to get past it.I am only 3 weeks out, I cheated, and I am not going to beat myself up about it. Tomorrow is another day....

Well they don't want you to drink soda because the carbonated beverages expand your stomach, but most people I know who are a year or more after surgery drink diet soda all the time. I can have a soda ok but it takes all day to drink it. I work 12 hour shifts, so sometimes I need that caffeine.
