Question Need some suggestions on stage 3 blended diet

Hello everyone,
I need some suggestions on the stage 3 blended diet. I have been having scrambled eggs with f/f cooking spray and a piece of cheese melted over. I have also had tuna, chicken turkey mixed with F/F salad dressing and every now and then a 1oz hunk of lowfat sharp cheddar cheese. I tried the lowfat 1% cottage cheese but it was really awful. Any suggestions as to what I could put in it to make it eatable? Does anyone have any suggestions for variety? If so I would greatly appreciate it. Also if sugar free chocolate jello pudding allowed at this stage. I am 3 weeks post op.

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I am 11 days post op and i am not allowed to have any kind of meat, tuna, chicken nothing until 6 weeks out. I am on the soft foods blah diet. If your docter is letting you have this kind of food you are lucky . I would kill for a can of tuna right now.

Good luck

i suggest making some blended home made soups - i remember having blended split pea soup. also try putting some ricotta cheese in a very small ramekin and spread a little tomato sauce on top and microwave. something that i have been eating for months - have it every workday for breakfast - fage yogurt that is 0% - it is very low in carbs and high in protein - i add a package of splenda to it and a tsp of sugar free strawberry preserves. it comes in individual servings and you will probably only be able to eat 1/2 of it. it can be found at trader joes and some grocery stores. this is a greek yogurt that is higher in protein, very thick like sour cream.

Refried beans were my favorite. I'd sprinkle a little shreaded cheese on top and nuke it until it melted. Yummmm

Yes, I was doing all flavor of puddings at your stage. I also blenderized roasted pork, and other meats, by adding some chicken broth until it was mushy enough. Fish went down well too - broiled of course.

Refried beans with cheese were great. Cottage cheese with mashed fruit tastes good. Soups, SF yogurt, SF puddings, ricotta cheese w/ spaghetti sauce and cheese is like a little lasagna- just some ideas.

I'm having my surgery this week and was just going over what I'm allowed to eat when I get home. SF pudding is one of the things I can have from the start.

I'm going to have to write down some of these ideas. I feel like it's going to be difficult for me because I don't like cheese. Maybe my taste will change afterwards.

Martha - the only cheese we can have after 1 week is cottage cheese and ricotta. So don't worry too much about not liking cheese - we can't have it! I'd love a chunk of low fat cheddar, a full scrambled egg (we can only have whites), and some refried beans!! Wow that sounds good! At least can have the tuna, chicken, and turkey now - they're saving me. I find it really interesting how different all the post op diets are.

SarJen01,
You are totally correct about the differences that each surgeon has on post op stages. Mine does not allow any fried beans. And will never allow me to have any liquid calories, not even skim milk.
