Question Lactose Intolerance?

I am 17 days post op from laproscopic gastric bypass. I am wondering if I am developing lactose intolerance. I was quite "bound up" initially post op, but this weekend, the flood gates "opened". I don't have any other signs of dumping, nor am I eating high sugar/fat foods - just the pureed diet as prescribed by my surgical group. This weekend I added 1% cottage cheese to the menu. Has anyone had similar experiences with dairy at this stage of the game?

thanks for your continued support!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Too soon to say what it is for you, I think. Everyone is pretty much bound up at first, so it may not really be intolerance, or not 100% dairy intolerance. It's a crap shoot in the beginning (haha...) - somethings get you, some don't, and not every time (so glad I could help you!! or did I confuse you worse ).
Keep a journal and see what happens, what combos work, which don't - it takes a little while to see what bothers you and what was just a one time thing, especially at first when you are healing. That's also why it's important to only add one or very few things at a time - see how your body reacts. And even at that, later out will be different anyway - you really do have to take it one day at a time. Good luck

Lactose intolerance is VERY common post op...I just want to add not to give it up...try it again in a couple of weeks or a month. What does NOT work this early out may work later down the road....it's very trial & error at this point since you are VERY early out!

Hi K...I know you've been thinking about the lactose thing for a while. Hopefully, you can get it resolved. Keep up the good work though. You're doing great.

Things tend to change as you go along and your body heals (you're very early out yet) so take your time.
