Default First dumping experience

At least I think that's what it was.

I was very very bad yesterday and ate an entire candy bar and about 2 hours later I started experiencing pain in my kidney area, which quickly moved into my pouch area and the next thing I know I'm lying on the floor, sweating, panting, weak and crying "OH GOD". I couldn't even get off the floor-- it was like someone removed all my bones.

It was just terrible. I thought I was dying.

My husband called 911 because neither of us knew what was happening and don't you know that the moment the EMTs walked through the door the pain passed and I was able to sit up. Talk about embarrassing.

Ugh...

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Did you crave the candy bar? I have not had my surgery yet do you feel hungry? Or do you feel full when you eat?Do you have normal bowel movements or is that screwed up for awhile after surgery?

Yep, sure sounds like a dump -- I have sworn off anything that has more than 9g of sugar or sugar alcohols and I am very careful about that. I've never had it as bad as you described, don't want to. But even a little dump is no fun and it is definitely tied to sugar -- bad sugar -- stay away from sugar -- life can be sweet without a lot and you can have candy too -- just not a candy bar. Try special dark chocolate, its sweet while still being low in sugar.

yep...sounds like dumping...mine usually comes on much sooner then 2 hours but symptoms sound right. I have never been that bad just get tired. I have never eaten a whole candy bar though. I forget who it was but somebody ate a bowl of icecream and passed out and doc explained that is a VERY serious thing. Watch the sugar. I don't do ANYTHING over 10 maybe 12 grams of sugar.

Yeah, I'm done with candy..at least I'm done eating an entire candy bar. I was craving the chocolate--I'm usually really good about limiting myself to just a taste--I seriously don't know what got into me to make me eat the whole thing. Normally I'd have had a little square and been content with that.

I did some research and discovered that pectin supplements are supposed to help prevent dumping--is anyone familiar with this remedy? Not that I want an excuse to eat a whole candy bar but now I'm scared to eat anything after that experience.
