If you cannot afford professional help, you may want to consider an Overeaters Anonymous meeting or two, if you can get into that kind of thing.
My recommendation...get in the kitchen and throw away all foods that are not part of the 6 week post op eating program. THROW THEM WAY! throw dirt on top of them to resist temptation to dig them out of the trash. Keep even fruit out of the house for a couple weeks.
Tell family members to bear with you for the next month or two while you change the house's eating habits...they can go out if they want anything different.
Trust me...three days of nothing but protein and veggies will start the scale moving down again. Drink you water and take your vitamins! Those are life-saving/preserving MUSTS.
Hang in there, sister....the first step is letting it out. Congratulations!

WOW!! Thanks everyone. Such wise and encouraging words.
I am doing much better today. I started anew.
I realized that I was eating the junk because it was in the house. I got rid of it! I don't want to believe that I have a dependency with food but I'm sure I do or else I wouldn't have had to get the surgery. I know I can conquer this. I was doing great at the very beginning I can do even better now.
I am looking at it for the seriousness it is. I took into mind all that you all have said. Thank you.
My daily eating plan is to have a protien shake for brekfast and one for lunch then a light dinner of the foods on my list. I am sure that will get me back on track.
I feel so encouraged I can't thank you all enough.
Big hugs to everyone.

I wasn't even allowed to eat anything but pureed foods at 6 weeks. So many surgeons are so different. Hang in there ... I had tons of Head Hunger for the first couple of months. I had a tough day yesterday and I am 22 weeks out ... I didn't eat anything bad but I struggled with wanting to eat too much. Of course I am limited .. but I could sabatoge myself by eatting alittle bit all day long. My only suggestion is keep on a schedule, don't allow yourself to become idle. For me personally if I become idle I want to snack.

good to see you are doing better today. if you are comfortable with the accountability, why not post what you eat in "what are you eating today"? it may help ward off the bad stuff knowing you're doing to put what you ate out there.
good for you for being open to everyones suggestions. you are well on your way

One of the real problem areas that people sabotage themselves with is the separation of eating from drinking. If you drink with your eating, it is a reliable indicator of problems down the road. Do not ever allow yourself to go slack on this essential requirement!

NEVER,NEVER,NEVER drink while I eat! I heard that it is a major factor in stretching the pouch opening and that can definately cause serious problems. That is one thing I watch with eagle eyes

it doesnt stretch it, it pushes what you ate thru quicker which will make you hungrier sooner than you would be and that makes you eat again. its a vicious cycle. dont ever do it!

another serious case of no plan after surgery.....do you have a nutritionist at your surgeon's office....?
The PLAN is simple....protein first, veggies 2nd...carbs is there is room...and in OUR case, there usually isn't......drink NO LESS than 64 ounces of water each day....remove all your tempting foods...and MAKE YOUR MIND accept that this is a LIFE CHANGE....
You've been thru too much to go backwards....commit yourself to this and STICK TO THE PLAN!!!
