Default Magic Bullets...how come mine keeps breaking down???

I have had 2 magic bullets. the bottom gear on the blade portion is rubber, and it keeps wearing down to where it no longer spins. Has anyone else had this problem?

I have contacted the manufacturer and on the first one they would not replace without a receipt. and on the 2nd, since it was an infomercial purchase, they found the original purchase invoice, and will replace the blade for the cost of shipping. That is OK I guess, but I think the product should last longer than a couple weeks!

DH uses it daily for shakes. I only think to use it for a mocha shake on weekend afternoons.

What am I doing wrong???

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

the first one I bought way preop and didn't use it until after the surgery. My daughter and her friend stripped the gear on that one, and the manufacturer did not offer any thing unless I had an invoice or receipt.

the 2nd one my hub ordered online. They found the invoice and they are replacing it for $5 shipping, and even after explaining that this is the 2nd one we have "killed", they don't offer any explanation for why it is happening. I have asked them for clarification.

grrr.

Do you put it in the dishwasher? If so that could be the problem. Oh wait...that's just the blade part. Ummm...maybe you are getting the motor part wet or something. Maybe also you are running it too long. I noticed whenever I run mine for more than a minute I start to smell a faint burning rubber or something. That's when I stop and give it a break. I've had mine for 2 or so years already. I love it.
Like I said don't over work it. I think they just made it to work fast not for long periods of time.

I notice if we lock the Magic Bullet in place instead of just using the pulse
it smells like a belt is burning. It might just be because it's new.You know how some things have that funny smell when you first use them?
We usually use just the pulse and it works great.
We also haven't tried to use ice in it either I don't want to bend the blade.
I really do like mine though.
I'm sure I'll get lots of use out of it after I have my surgery.

Only a couple of weeks .. return it! Dispute it on your credit card! Tell them they must replace it. Nowadays you have to make them do stuff. If mime breaks down that is what I would do. i would be nice about it but I would make sure they replace it.

I had mine for over a year and had no problems. The bottom of my MB is not rubber its pretty sturdy. I found mine at Walgreens with a mail in rebate.
Maybe yours is an imitation because there are others out there.

Hot topics...you turn the blade assembly upside down...and the cog that inserts into the blender (motor) portion of your machine is not made of a hard rubber???

I bought it from the manufacturer...Homeland Housewares. Hmmm. I bought the original well over a year ago.

My next purchase of this sort will be a conventional (hamilton beach?) mini blender. Enough of this upside down crap. LOL

Mine is wearing down but if I press down on it and turn it, it works. I bought a new one though so when this one gives up the ghost, I'll have another one ready to go.

I grind up dinners with mine (not much in the way of teeth and swallowing issues from a lifelong case of GERD) - works well. Have a blender too but the Bullet serves a unique place... I've had mine since 2005....
