Default Popcorn!!!

One of my favorite foods is airpopped popcorn with pam butter flavored spray and a bit of salt.
A couple of my friends say it is something they can eat post RNY, and I would like to try it eventually. My Nut hasn't said anything on the subject and I don't see her for 9 more weeks.
Sooo... When did you guys start eating popcorn (if at all). I am being super careful, especially with some complications I have had, so I don't want to try something too soon.
I don't want to eat it a lot, it would just be a nice change of pace.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I just had some for the first time post op last Saturday. So that would have made that 2 months post op. I had no complications. I chewed it up real good and it was gooood.

I have not had my surgery yet but I would say don't eat it right now.
You've had bleeding and you don't want that to start again!
I would wait till you get the all clear from your surgeon.
Just to be safe!

You know that YOUR SURGEON"S OFFICE is the only one who should be answering this question.

If you are v e r y c a r e f u l about the carbs, then once you are cleared to eat any solid foods you can try popcorn.

Even air or dry microwave popped with Pam or whatever, it is a lot of carbs and some of us get into "trouble" when we eat carbs.

I'm still waiting until I feel more comfy with the thought. One thing is that in my prior life, I couldn't eat just a handful, I had to finish the whole bag! And as judijo said, it's all carbs. I just don't think it has enough good stuff in it for me to put a lot of worry into.

I do eat it but was over a year out before I tried it. Be careful when you do, the calorie and fat count can be substantial. I'd also caution anyone early out from surgery, lots of little pieces to get caught in suture lines in your tum. When I had my surg, we were not even to eat strawberry yogurt cause of the itty bitty strawberry seeds. Check with your doc~~~

I love this place. Everyone is so protective.
I had no plans to bust open a bag Orville's any time soon. I was just wondering when your pouches were able to tolerate popcorn. It's such a diverse food in regards to texture and volume I was wondering what you guys experienced.
I think your right in your approach Perfesser, I'm not ready to mess with much that was such an pitfall in the past. But someday I would like to try some again. I eat it in a pretty healthy way, but you are all right about it being pure carbs.

Im with Judy Jo on this one to. Ask your Dr this question. They are all different. I know you probally told us before but I dont see it posted in the what type of GBS you had. Was it open RNY or the sleeve. A show I watched this past week suprised me on the sleeve and what they can eat versus RNY.

I have yet to try it. I watch my carbs and am worried about the kernels.
