| Breakfast Ideas??
Since getting back on track I am pushing the protein like I am supposed too. My problem is breakfast. I don't like to eat breakfast, but I have been making myself. What "real food" besides eggs is a good protein filled breakfast? I could eat them every day because they are so versatile, but I've just always heard that "too many" eggs are bad for you. (How many are too many?) I don't have cholesterol, HBP, or sugar problems. Any ideas???

You get the idea. I have been up and down between 205 and 290 for the last 4 or 5 years. I'm here again, trying again, and won't give up until I get it right. |

I have not been able to tolerate eggs, unless very disguised, since my surgery one year ago.
My breakfast is either one slice of whole grain bread with VERY LITTLE light mayo or light margarine and one slice cheese and one slice turkey cold cuts. And a piece of fruit, if I am still hungry, which is almost never. This is my old-school Weight Watcher's breakfast.
OR
A cup of FF yogurt (I began making my own yogurt. yummy) with some sweetener and a small "toss" (a palmfull) of berries and 6 almonds. I add Benefiber to this to get/keep things moving.
PS. I don't eat breakfast until about 9 or 9:30 AM, at my first break at work. Since surgery, I am very nauseated all day if I eat earlier in the day. That was one of those realizations I made when I was about 4 weeks out.

| I have a hard time with breakfast, too, but I make myself eat something to avoid the problems later in the day. I do use protein shakes and sometimes blend in a very small amount of frozen fruit and some ice cubes for substance. I also like to have a slice of Orowheat light bread with a tablespoon of Smart Balance peanut butter on it on some mornings. I have to watch my carbs for the rest of the day when I do that, but I still love peanut butter and it seems to be working for me. Greek yogurt is one of my new favorites since it has 15 grams of protein in it. I just add my one ounce of Xango juice to it and I'm ready to go. If you open yourself to eating whatever you feel like eating and not worrying about breakfast or dinner foods, you'll find all sorts of options you like.

breakfast early on was tough..I finally just started doing a 1/2 of a protein bar first thing in the morning then something else mid morning when my pouch relaxed a bit. Mine still hasn't stretched out due to the open stoma..but morning is still tough..
coffee with cream then part of a bar or yoghurt with protein powder and raw oatmeal or some days I'll fry up and egg with cheese and butter
(be warned I eat high fat have too LOW cholesterol and don't absorb much fat and don't dump on it..per doc's orders..more fat in diet)
the first thing the trainer is asking me when I come in anymore is "did you get your breakfast in good today?" LOL..
urgg that man has already figured out that some days I just don't want breakfast!!!but training on empty BAD BAD idea.
I take pb mixed with milk powder and chilled in plastic to eat after my cardio..go home and have a 2nd breakfast. ..seriously.
breakfast...shoot there really are no have to's on it...just eat what YOU do best. Some days for me it's cooked greens with spam or chicken with a bit of rice for the complex carbs. so each day is a new day!

Thanks - it didn't occur to me to eat non-breakfast things. I guess I just need to be a bit more open-minded.

I have been having a Premiere Nutrition Protein Shake for breakfast. It is a ready-to-drink shake. You can only find them on-line or at Costco. It has 30 grams of protein and only 1 gram of sugar. It tastes really good.
OR I will have 5 Tablespoons of Hemp protein (looks like sesame seeds) and is available at most health food stores. That has 20 grams of protein and then I will have a babybel cheese which has 5 grams of protein.
