Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Thanks for the advice guys.

MSVICKI, I have zero physical hunger, and the head hunger is subsiding (slowly).
My diet is still real limited and I have a difficult time getting my pouch to "wake up". I can eat well between 2ish and 7ish, but anytime after I get a really queasy feeling. I am working on it. Tried hot tea this morning, it worked OK.
I seem to have a VERY picky pouch.
Other than that I get a little better every few days and I am working on increasing my energy levels.
Thanks for asking.

I tried fruit in my shakes early on and BLECH it made the shake taste even worse. I just waited until I could eat fruit in it's whole state. I buy the smallest bananas I can find and it still takes me all day to eat one. I would stay away from fruits with seeds ie strawberries, raspberries and such, they might make you feel bad.

I personally still really cannot do fruits at all..dump and diarrhea. Plus I have become much more latex allergy sensitive which is apparently also related to tropical fruits. So now post op..bananas..vomit it up time for me!

Also remember..fruits are carby so you want to be wary of that, but also DO WHAT THE DOC'S LIST SAYS FOR --YOU-- If you don't know what they mean by 'soft fruits' call and ASK.

I had no prob. with either. Like Judi said one at a time. If you are blendering them that should also help, they will be pureed.

I was ok'd with bananas quickly after surgery- strawberries were a 3 month out item- I have never had a problem with either.

I started out only able to eat a quarter of a banana, then went up to a third, then an half. I can now (at almost 2 years) eat a whole small banana occasionally, but I still usually just do half. They can cause me to dump a little. Love strawberries!

I've found that the easiest way for me to eat a banana is to take two pieces of Wasa flatbread or Ry-Krisp, cover them with peanut butter, then slice the banana onto them. One banana just covers the two. I'll sometimes do this as a meal in itself when I know I've got the protein intake satisfied.
