Can I eat Banana's, strawberries?
I would really like to add these to my shakes, they really help mask the protien powder taste for me.

I'd start out with a 1/2 a banana. Wait on the Strawberries a little while longer. The seads are killers!

See if its on your list of what you can have. If you dont have one call your surgeon and ask the nurse. These fruits helped me alot. Watch the banana though because for some reason I think its the nautural sugar it can hurt your tummy.

I don't have a fruit list. I have a whole book with the diet progression carefully laid out week by week. It can be very specific, but when it comes to fruit it is fairly vague. Right now I am allowed "soft fruits", this wasn't really spelled out. And I was told to avoid strawberries until my stomach was healed. Not really sure exactly what they mean.

Don't take them both at the same time. Try one...just a tad...and see how it goes. I don't have a problem with strawberries, but bananas are baaaad....one year out and the smallest amount puts me down.
After one or two days with the new food with no problems, try the other food. It is like weaning a baby on solid foods...you don't introduce more than one food at a time.
See how everyone's responses are different? only your body can tell you what works.

I had trouble taking my protein powder also and on my 1 month follow up, my Dr. did tell me I could add about 2 strawberries and about 1/4 of a banana

Never had a problem with either one of 'em. Peanut hasn't, either. Your mileage may vary.

IF you don't dump.
Bananas are high in potassium, so can be good for you if you have charlie horse issue.
Strawberries, the little seeds can cause problems with your pouch, so you may need to wait a bit more--till you're about 6 months out.
Call and ask your surgeon's office or the nut, though, to be sure about the strawberries. The bananas shouldn't be any problem.
