Hey everyone, congrats to all of you on your quest for a lifestyle change. I am wondering about recipes. I am a great chef and i guess I just wasnt givin enough literature for my regular diet. I have been fearing swallowing food. Funny? I would like to make food that I know will be healthy for me and I will not have trouble eating. I find chicken alittle rough for me to swallow. any ideas? I could sure use them. Thank you.

Foods fixed in a crock pot are very tender and easy on the pouch for me. Chicken if it is not really moist is hard on me also. Anything that you can cook until it is soft to chew will work well. Good luck on your journey. It is some trip but oh so worth it.

| I especially enjoyed, still do, smoked, fall off the bone tender bbq without the sauce ~ that sauce gets me every time! Also, are you familiar with cuban or spanish style pork roast? It is OMG goodf! Tender and incredibly moist. Chicken is still a toughy for me, I do ok with rotisserie chicken and some ckn fingers if they're moist, but most baked ckn, etc, at home is just not palatable. Lots of us do well with fish ~ I love salmon on the grill, also talapia. I also do ok with shrimp and the like. Good luck

Have you looked in the Recipes forum yet? Hundreds of recipes in there, each tested and approved by at least one of us for WLS-compliance. Lots of chicken, lots of other stuff, too, including some really good desserts. You're just getting back on solids now, so there's lots of good stuff in there for you.
Who did your surgery? Dr. Chute at Abbott NW did mine and my wife's, and there's a lady in Mankato just had hers done by Dr. Drew, all with Minneapolis Bariatrics. Good folks to work with!
I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of wonderful things you come up with for the Recipes forum!! Kitty56 is our resident recipe modifier. She has taken all kinds of dishes and changed them so that we can enjoy them. It's a great gift, and a blessing to all of us here, so I hope you'll consider applying your skills as a chef to this grand cause, too!!
Welcome to the family!!

Thank you everyone! I am excited to try some of the new recipes I have found. Tonight I am making my specialty, Fish tacos. I will post my recipe. Oh and Perfesser, I had my surgery done by Dr. Jeff Baker of Baker Bariatrics.
