How did you plan to get all your protein in when back to work. It's been a full time job planning and recording my intakes. Do you plan the whole day so you know what you are going to eat and that you are getting all your requirements in? I have found this past week, I have become a little lax in recording things and have a few days I have missed the mark big time on both fluid and protein. I'm just getting nervous because I'm still at the point that I don't care if I eat or not.

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Deb
i never recorded what I ate or Drank still don't I have goals especially for liquids to have a bottle of water between meals which is over a litre of water. I do not plan my meals either I have a variety of items in my desk and usually I take leftovers from the night before. I can never tell what I want so preplanning never works the minute I preplan my meals is the minute that I won't eat them... Good Luck when you go back to work it is fine and you will do great I went back 2 weeks after my surgery and had no issues.

If you do ok with heated leftovers then that would work. Some dont. One thing I would suggest is this. Make sure you have eat it before. I wouldnt try a new food at work for a while. I agree with taking a water bottle with you or any other source of fluid to have it handy and almost in your way. How about planning it off of what you have eaten before and sit down one day and make a plan for a couple days and see how that goes. When I first went back to work .... I had a terrible time with eating. I took cheese with me as a snack and well didnt take anything else. After you update us on this I will explain that more. LOL. Honey dont get over nervous about this. Choose things you have eaten and you can tolerate right now ok?

Your gonna be just fine. And WOW on the two week mark going back. How medicine has expanded. Somthing like this years ago would have put you out 6-8 weeks just for the incision having to be so long. Now you have little keyholes as my Dr said.

Its amazing isnt it? Good luck and do update us on how you make it and what you eat.

I agree...work is NOT the place to try new foods.

My opinion...be very consistent on your diet at work. KNOW what you are going to eat and then take it with you.

I am at goal, and 1.5 years out. I take cottage cheese and fruit for breakfast (morning break), a lunch of some sort (anything from a "pre-tested" frozen entree to a couple slices of meat/cheese, and a salad) with the proper utensils, protein drinks either in a shaker cup or premixed can/drink box, and an afternoon snack for PM break.

I keep silverware and a bowl at my desk so I have it handy...no excuses for not having the proper utensils.

I can keep protein supplements at my desk, just as others have a coffee cup.

Every day. No exceptions. It is not hard to pack lunch after the habit is formed.

My views...your mileage may vary.

Same with me, don't worry just plan ahead is all I can say.

I keep my protein drinks stashed in my desk drawer at work, I keep extra cheese sticks in a small tupperware container in the employee break room fridg. and I keep Lipton Cup A Soup and low sugar instant oatmeal packets also in my desk for my breakfasts / lunch. I often times bring my own homemade leftovers but if I forget or am running late one day I know I have something at work to rely on.

Its tempting but try really hard to NOT snack while at work, if you feel hunger pangs grab a cheese stick or a protein drink.

I would suggest starting your morning with a protein shake. That way you know you have a good start on the protein. The rest of the day is all about fluids and doing your best to make wise choices to add in more protein and veggies. This seems to work well for me.
